My wife was driving the vehicle on a local highway at approximately 60 mph when she felt a jerk in the vehicle. She was approaching a stoplight that had turned red and therefore was applying the brake. When she attempted to accelerate the vehicle would not move. The highway is very busy at the time of the incident and she was in danger of being struck by another vehicle. She was finally able to get the vehicle in gear and turn onto a side road and phone for assistance. The vehicle was able to be driven home after sitting for a short time, however I attempted to move the vehicle out of my garage and could not get in gear.
While driving at approximately 25 mph vehicle was shifting very hard. The vehicle cointinued to have issue shifting. At another time was driving vehicle and stopped at a traffic light. Upon light turning green pushed on the accelerator and the vehicle would not go, transmission would not shift into gear. Vehicle has 83,000 miles and now the transmission needs to be replace. Seems to be a frequent issue with this vehicle model. Gm should recall this transmission!!.
The vehicle started over revving while changing from 1st to 2nd gear, slowing down in busy traffic. There were many in traffic who were blowing their horns and swerving to avoid my vehicle, which at the time contained my wife and three small children. The following day, the vehicle would not go into any gear. Fortunately when the transmission failed, I was on a private road with minimal traffic.
Transmission failed to shift into 3rd gear from 2nd gear. Has done this a lot of times for no reason at all. Became a hazard when we were accelerating onto a freeway and the car would not go into gear properly.
Vehicle would make very loud sound and the entire vehicle would jerk when going beyond 20 mhp, I was terrified of putting my children in this car fearing that I would be entering the interstate of cars traveling 70 + mph and my car not shifting into gear!! after taking it in for a 3rd time. They kept telling me that no codes were coming up and refused to listen to me. After reading all of the blogs about this horrible car I went into the dealership insisted that the manager ride with me in the car to feel and hear what was going on in which he did. I told him that the wave plate was the problem with thousands of these cars so I was pretty sure this was the problem. He said don't believe everything you see on those blogs. Well a few days later they called me and said the wave plate was bad and they replaced it!!! this car needs to be recalled for several reasons, power steering is bad and needed replaced, and is making the same sound again that it was making the first time it went out, the water pump went out and was replaced. I am almost to the end of my extended warranty and I hold my breath every time I drive my car praying that my transmission doesn't go out again, horrible to have this feeling on such an expensive vehicle, I am asking you to please recall these 2007 Acadia's before someone looses their family's lives! thanks so much.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. While driving at 40 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle would not shift gears. Prior to the failure, the contact noticed that the vehicle would hesitate when driving at any speed. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealership where the clutch plate was replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000. The current mileage was approximately 48,000.
Several issues with this new 2007 GMC Acadia. Most prevalent is the failure of the gas gauge not reading the gas reading correctly. 1st time noticed and taken for service was 3 mo. Old. The gas gauge reads (e) when I've just filled up the tank. Dealer replaced 02 sensors. 1 mo later experience same issue. Gas gauge reads (e) even when tank is full. Taken back to dealer and this time replace (2) O2 sensors and the "sending unit". 2 days later, with the gas gauge reading at half full, the car lunges forward into another gear on freeway in traffic, and stalls. Cannot turn car on - all warning lights on. Towed to dealer. Now states that I need a whole new gas tank because the "baffle" is broken? still at the dealer and is unresolved. This car is unsafe. Previous issues: car leaks at the sunroof. Not fixed yet lumbar support broken - somewhat fixed but still not like the new ones on the lot. Lumbar handle fell off - replaced backup sensors fell off of bumper - replaced seat tracks jerk - replaced both driver and pass. Still not smooth but dealer says that's the best they can do.
