Stabilitrak system in 2009 GMC Acadia randomly acts up disabling abs system and traction control. Also randomly get a low oil pressure warning light but oil level, temperature is fine and no noises smoke or performance decline. Used different scan tools to read codes and the vechile has none listed. Changed numerous sensors and the problem is never resolved.
I’m unsure what caused my 09 Acadia to catch fire, but it burned the longest and hottest under the engine. I need help.
The sunroof has leaked into my passanger floor making my car battery full of water legit my whole battery is under water! this is the second time the sunroof has leaked ! I still don’t understand why they would put a battery behind my passanger seat infront of the back seat on the floor this is very dangerous. Second I still have no clue why this car has no recalls because if you look this car up it has so many problems it’s a lemon car for sure I had to put a catalytic converters in my car three times the same one three times and then the last time I changed all three of them when only one needed to be changed! I have cruise control stable track and wheel speed sensors lights on my car that I have changed everything possible to fix the light won’t come of I changed all the wheel speed sensors and the light with still not come off the dash I’m still very confused on to why there are no recalls on this vechile all these problems I’m telling your are all on google that this same SUV other people have have the same issues I’m having.
I was driving home when my GMC Acadia started to smoke so I pulled over and it caught on fire. The whole thing burnt.
Converters continue to go out. I've replaced several times then with in a few months same codes pull again. They replace it again. Now they refuse to give me any warranty on them since they have been replaced so many times in a short amount of time. There's got to be something else cause the same codes to pull but GMC shop keeps saying same thing.
I had to, replace the transmission. . Driving on city street car would not accelerate although rpm needle showed motor revving now waiting on stability control module thats on back order.
While driving the vehicle at 45mph I received a low oil pressure shut off engine. Oil was fine so we took it to have the oil changed. Light came back on. There are no codes being stored in the system. Everyone is guessing what could be wrong with it from a bad oil pump or the pan needs to be cleaned. There is a forum a bunch of other people having the same problem and spending thousands and getting nowhere. Some have had to have a whole new engine installed. Gm says there are no bulletins and they will give me a 100 $ for the vehicle to be serviced by a tech. Just to be checked is 250 $ not including any fixes for the issue.
I need to get whatever has a recall for my car fix I ride my grandkids daily.
Takara recall well my truck just stop changing gears on Sunday nite 03/24/19 I was getting off about to drive out of the parking lot when I saw the rpm hand go up but didnt come back down I knew something was wrong then it didn't change at all I drove 20 all way home with my flashers on and almost got ran over.
The vehicle was stationary, will start but it doesn't recognize that it has or cords aren't connecting and it won't shift into any gear-just makes a clicking sound-shift lever. Lift gate/back hatch won't stay up and keeps falling down. Power/electrical issues involving the transmission was driving, at a red light and the vehicle just stopped working and I couldn't even get it started again. There has been ongoing issues with this vehicle.
Takata recall ibought a used 2009 GMC Acadia in January 2016 with 108,000 miles on it. In August my car wouldn't start and I had it towed to the dealership and they said it needed a timing chain which was recalled. They contacted gm and they said they will not cover this because it was fixed 15,000 miles ago. I then called gm and they gave me a check for $990. 00 in which it actually cost $3,200. 00 to fix! I looked on line and it said they would pay for the timing chain up to 10 years from the date in which it was first put in service for the problem// or up to 120,000 miles whichever came first. Well, this car may have been fixed before but it doesn't state if it was fixed before or if you weren't the original owner - it states it will be covered under the recall. At some point they realized they were in the wrong because they gave me a check for $990. 00 towards a $3,200. 00 bill. " lexi " from gm stated she would note that the customer wasn't happy and close out this complaint!! wow!! still dealing with this b. S.
I was driving my car at about 70 mphs on the interstate and the car began to slow down and check engine light starting flashing. I almost got hit by the drivers beside and behind me. While honking my horn and putting on the emergency lights I was able to get over to the side of the highway. Towed my car into the dealership and they keep it for about 8 days saying they were very behind. Notified them that my car was coming in for service and was never told they was behind. Finally about 7 days later the dealership is saying they don't know what is wrong with my car. Then on the 9 day the service guy calls me and says they think its the motor but they would have to take it out to see. Possible cost would be any where from $4,000 to $7,000 to fix the problem. There are several special coverage open on my car such as timing chain , water pump shaft seal, loss of power steering and throttle body. After reading other GMC customer complaints I feel it is the throttle body that needs to be replaced. Dealership states they don't know whats exactly wrong with my car but can't figure it out till they take out my engine.
My check engine light it on. While driving and sitting still my car will jerk multiple times. Make a squealing noise, grinding noise and when accelerating from a stop it feels like my car does not want to move. The squealing noise also occurs when car is being cranked. The tire sensor light has come on recently as well and I have put air in my tires but the sensor will not go off.
The emission or pollution system, engine light on code p 0430 , needed to find out if any recalls for vehicles going back to 2009. Thanks.
While driving to work the car check engine light came on and said overheating pull over. After pulling over a local shop towed me back since the nearest GMC dealer is 30 miles away and the snowy conditions are safe to drive in with a car that is acting up. Once at the shop it is evident the water pump is leaking at the shaft seal. Due to the nature of the issue I was unable to transport my car to a GMC dealer for repair, thus the cost of this repair is again my responsibility per GMC "customer service". At this time I am in deep regret of my purchase of this GMC product and will be wary when I look to purchase my next product.
While traveling to work at approximately 65 mph on us 53 in eau claire, WI. The 3-5-r waveplate in my 2009 GMC Acadia broke causing my vehicle to rapidly decelerate. Luckily there was no other vehicles near me at the time and I was able to pull to the side of the road and stop without incident. After researching the internet it appears that this is a common failure of the 2007-2009 Acadia/outlook vehicles.
I had purchased the vehicle used from what I had thought was a reputable dealer, boy was I wrong. I was on my way home with it from the dealer an hour and a half drive 1 way , going down the interstate at about 65 mph, when the vehicle started to shake something severe , and the rpm,s went wild. I slowed down , but the shake , vibration continued. Finally it did straighten out, and I got home. A couple days later on my way to work the engine light came on, and than the service all wheel drive system light came on. The next day my dad who is a mechanic, drove it and it shook and vibrated so bad , he thought the wheels were falling off. Came back and put it in the workshop and checked the wheels for tightness, they were ok. Noticed a rather large coolant leak above the water pump ,, seemed to be coming from under intake area. Called the dealer and said we were bringing it back on a trailer. On 1 / 1 / 15 at about 9:45 am dropped off at the dealer, told them again what the problems were and left it there. On 1 / 5 / 15 the dealer called us and indicated there was a upper radiator hose that the clamp was loose. I told them it was not and my dad knows where it was from. They also stated that they drove it and could not find any problems with it. After telling me that they said that they are a Ford dealer and do not have the tools to diagnose the vehicle. Right after that the general manager says that he did notice a problem with shifting , but its nothing to worry about. I said than you put your family in the vehicle and take them for a drive , because I will not put myself with my 3, and 5 year old kids in it. He said he will look at it again tomorrow. I will never buy another gm product ever again.
While emptying out the rear of the vehicle, the lift gate proceeded to descend while I was taking out our suitcases. I was unaware this was happening and my hand was on the right side of the vehicle hatch. The lift gate did not stop when it hit my hand and I immediately pulled away from it catching my finger on the sharp side of the mechanism. It ripped open my middle finger, cutting it to the tendon, requiring a trip to the emergency room. I had to get eleven stitches to close the wound and a tetanus shot. After we arrived home and investigated the problem, we discovered the struts on the lift gate must have been weak to let the hatch descend. The problem is that there is no fail safe when this happens to stop the descent! my brother-in-law also got caught and it took a great deal of muscle to push it up. What would happen if a child got caught in it? I hate to think of the outcome. It would seem to me that this default would be a priority issue to consider. The fail safe should work no matter what. I am concerned this could be a life threatening situation. Appreciate any comments you may have on the above incident.
I have had the car for 1. 5 years, the power steering went out making it impossible to get the car out of parking spots or even turn at a light. The transmission went out, the ignition went bad, the steering column went out. The car has been recalled 6 times & in the shop countless more. Serious problems with Acadias.
A female used the automatic liftgate option to open the back gate and get items out of the back. After the gate opened fully, it fell forcefully for about 2 feet, directly onto her head. This resulted in her falling to the ground on concrete, blacking out, and becoming very dizzy and nauseas. She is currently being transported by ambulance to the hospital. This is a definite safety issue and malfunction that may cause serious injury or death.
While driving on the highway my service engine soon light started to flash. It stopped so I continued driving until I arrived home. It was diagnosed as premature timing chain wear due to a faulty oil monitor sensor and it was "repaired". The issue has continued to happen since and the vehicle has been returned to the dealership 3 times to attempt repairs. It was at this point that I started to research this vehicle and found out that gm knows of a random misfire issue after engine removal (mind you this was to repair damage due their faulty part to begin with). They don't know how to fix the issue--it can be electrical or you could replace just about every part under the hood and see if that works. But no guarantee that this will fix it as I stated earlier, they don't know what will fix it. I do not feel safe driving my family around in this vehicle any longer. We live in the north--hence the reason for an awd vehicle--and I don't want to get stuck somewhere, in below 0 weather with my children in the vehicle. I now own a very expensive vehicle that I don't drive far as I don't know what it is going to do. To me this is a safety issue and liability that they have tried to sweep under the rug like the rest of their issues of late.
Current issue is a transmission failure, apparently the "3-5-r waveplate. " five months prior, my wife and children were traveling out of state. They experienced a sudden loss of power and were stranded on a rural highway not once, but twice. The vehicle was towed in to a gm dealership, "repairs" were performed under warranty, and we were told we could pick up our car. My wife (again with children in the car) made it less than 10 miles from the dealership before the engine failed again. This time on the bridge of a major highway. . . . No where to even exit the vehicle. After the second incident the engine was replaced (after 3+ weeks of diagnostic work). We were told the dealership was not able to identify the problem that caused the engine failure. Engine was replaced under warranty. Transmission had been shifting erratically for several months. At time of engine failure/replacement, gm dealership that performed the engine replacement advised us that the transmission shifts/slips were "normal" for this particular transmission. They advised a transmission fluid flush, which we authorized. Shifting remained abrubt, slipping continued, but as we were advised this was "normal", we continued driving the vehicle and did not seek further repair. Two weeks ago, (now six weeks out of warranty), the slippage became distictly more evident, vehicle at one point wound not continue forward motion through an intersection and had to be idled to roadside. After multiple calls, we were advised to take the vehicle to a local gm dealership. Diagnosis of 3-5-r waveplate failure was given. This transmission waveplate failure is a well documented issue that can cause driver and/or passengers to be put at serious risk for injury. Our hope is that an investigation will take place to require gm to recall/repair this issue before someone is needlessly harmed.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 GMC Acadia slt. The contact stated that while in reverse or stopping on a hill and taking her foot off the brake, the vehicle slightly rolled back. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000. St.
Over the course of 6 years since I've purchased by new vehicle, on the right side passenger floor, there is a puddle of water that has accumulated under the carpeting and is causing the floor to rust and deteriorate. It is when you run the a/c and the water drains into the vehicle. I've sent it to the dealer to have it repaired many times and they only do a fix and not correct the problem to avoid the lodging of the water. The last time I sent it to my dealer the fan motor was inoperable because of the water damage the electronic circuits.
