The hydraulics on my tailgate failed suddenly. I always use the power liftgate to open my tailgate, but this time when it reached the top, the tailgate suddenly dropped several inches, when the gas struts should have taken over the weight of the tailgate. I was standing under the tailgate at the time when it happened, and it hit me on the head, before the power liftgate took over again to close the liftgate . In manual mode, the gas struts don't function at all now. My vehicle is 21 months old. It is booked into a dealership to investigate the failure.
