1 Check Engine Light On problem

Looking into a check engine light I found I had a misfire in a few cylinders. Looking into it I found oil in my spark plug tubes, my coils were perfectly dry and the top of the tubes were dry as well. Looking into this issue I found multiple TSB forms for the issue stating there was a manufacture defect in the head. It says it effects all vins for all years as they use the same engine.

2 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the coolant sensor was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was diagnosed by two additional unknown mechanics but not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

3 Check Engine Light On problem

While driving at speeds ranging from 30 mph to 60 mph, the engine begins to miss, especially uphill. The vehicle begins to shake terribly. When I contacted the dealership regarding the issue, I was asked if the check engine light was on. It was not but the dealership had me bring it in anyway. This vehicle has been in the shop three or four times now. I have paid to have the fuel system cleaned as well as the spark plugs and plug coils replaced. These are expensive processes not covered by extended warranties. In the end, I have been told by the dealership that unless a check engine light comes on to 'map' the problem, they can't help me.

4 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2014

The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the passenger side running lights malfunctioned and the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact was informed that the headlight assembly melted and cracked, which causing the running light to malfunction. The light bulbs were replaced but the same failure recurred on the driver side light assembly. While driving in the rain, the vehicle suddenly began to hydroplane and the traction control light and check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that water was present inside the engine and the number five coil was damaged. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000. . . . Updated 05/14/15.

5 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2012

The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the motor needed to be replaced. On a separate occasion, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the same failure and was diagnosed that the fuel injector needed to be replaced. Also, the technician mentioned that the ecm needed to be updated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000 and the current mileage was 40,000.
