general problems of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Daytime running light bulb and housing failure. Some 2012 Acadia models recalled under now expired recall for bulbs and deformation of surrounding housing. Apparently the above recall was excluded from this recall and should have been included. Both drl on this vehicle have failed and surrounding housing has been damaged . Subsequently replacing just bulbs is not possible. The housing melted on the bulb. Photo is available on request. This failure should be considered a fire hazard. Gm customer service center stated to me that this vehicle was not included in recall after VIN search. Some 2012 Acadias were in fact included , this one was not. And should have been since the failure occurred as stated in the original recall.

The headlights in this make and model go out frequently. I've owned my vehicle for 2 years and have put 5 headlights in it.

Drl sockets melted safely issue a service bulletin was issued but not a recall , gm will now not fix it unless I pay 2,600 this is a fire hazard.

Tl the contact owns a 2012 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that both of the low beam headlamps were inoperable. The contact changed the bulbs twice, but they kept going out. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to central GMC (2907 e parker rd, jonesboro, ar 72404), but they could not replicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 92,600.

This complaint is in regard to the technical service bulletin 14823, special coverage adjustment running lamp inoperative (may 12, 2015). The running light melted in the housing (fire hazard) and had to be replaced twice at a cost in excess of $1,000 each time. Vehicle was stationary. My low beam head lights keep blowing over the past two years, I have had to replace them 5 times on the driver side and 2 times on the passenger size. Also had my head light harness replaced oct due the blub breaking in multiple pieces. Jan of 2019, it rained and my turning signal blub broke again and the lighting component filled up with water and looked like a floating fish bowl.

The running lamps would not come on.

Headlamps keep melting/burning out.

Both low beam lights failed at the same time. Occurred when starting up car in parking lot at work at night.

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the daytime running lights failed to illuminate. The contact mentioned that when replacing the light bulb, the base of the bulb and the plastic harness was burnt and melted. The contact stated that the bulbs were replaced on multiple occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000. Djr.

I have been having problems with my vehicle for a while now. The car will cut off in traffic I have gotten stuck in the seatbelt as well as today while I am trying to make a left the car would not accelerate as I was hitting the gas pedal I could have been killed. I have taken my vehicle to arnie bauer on another occasion because I had just left the gas station filling the tank up I got in the truck pulled out of the gas station and the gas gauge started going up and down my overhead lights came on and the car just died out in 45 mph traffic I took it in and all they keep telling me is if they can't duplicate the problem they can not help me how is this safe number one number two I do not know when the vehicle is going to cut off. I have had the speedometer just go up and down as I'm driving as well as the radio would just start to shift from auxillary to cd to radio without ever being touched. If I hit a pothole lights start flashing this is unacceptable. But I'm being told there is nothing that can be done because they can't replicate the problem how is this on my shoulders I'm paying for an extended warranty that is not worth the paper it's printed on. It has to be an electrical short or something they just do not want to repair. But I can not keep putting my families lives in danger driving this vehicle because they say they can not replicate the problem. This is dangerous and GMC will not help.

Constant problem with running lights - burn sometimes - sometimes do not burn.
