1 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2017

Today with the fuel gauge showing 1/2 tank full, my Acadia ran out of gas and I was forced to the side of the road. I have seen recalls for other year models for this exact problem, but the year my Acadia is does not matter to gm. This is a very serious problem that could cause a severe accident. Gm's recall number is 14007. In the affected vehicles, the engine control module (ecm) software may cause the fuel gauge to read inaccurately. An inaccurate fuel gauge may result in the vehicle unexpectedly running out of fuel and stalling, increasing the risk of a crash. They know there is a problem why not fix it.

2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2015

Highway, vehicle in front kicked up a backpack unable to avoid, when speed was lowered, odor of gasoline noticed, stopped, fuel tank leaking, towed to nearest dealer. Photo attached.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2015

My fuel gauge is reading empty and the miles left is not working. Even though I have gas in the tank.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

On several occassion after driving the vehicle for several minutes, gas gauge fluxes from 1/2 tank to empty with yellow warning light becoming engage, after shutting it off and turning back on the gauge goes back to normal, this is happening all the time and has been looked at by a certifed GMC dealer. Dealer did state that there was a letter out about this problem but the current way of solving it is not working.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2012

Beginning about 4 months after I bought the vehicle, the fuel guage began to malfunction. The guage fluctuates from half full to empty. Many times the guage shows 1/4 to empty but the tank is empty. I have run out of gas numerous times (at least 10 times) over the last 2 years because the guage shows I have gas and the tank is empty. Took it to the dealer on numerous ocassions and the dealer said they checked it but found no problem. This is a dangerous situation when traveling on the freeway at high speed and I lose all power steering and brakes. I now have to fill up the tank when the guage reads half empty to avoid running out of gas. The gauge is completely unreliable.
