1 Car Will Not Start problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2019

On one, approximately 200-mile trip last year, the electrical system in our Acadia completely went out (including all guages, turn signals, etc. ) three separate times. We were driving on interstate roadways, and the vehicle could still be driven. The system rebooted each time after a few minutes. Ultimately, my wife ended up stranded as the vehicle would not start due to electrical system failure after she had parked it during a separate trip. Our gm dealership informed us that the rear object detection modules had corroded, and that "everyone has this problem. " the corrosion caused a cascade failure or the entire system, which is definitely a safety hazard. Gm replaces these modules with non-corroding ones now, after we paid $992. 52 to have them replaced. I contacted autumn at gm customer service, and she said that there is now special coverage for this problem that began on 4/2/19. However, our vehicle is over the 80,000-mile warranty for this problem.
