A recall was issued for my car in may ‘23. I have called our local GMC dealer and they explain they do not have the parts. I called GMC recall dept and they say that they are trying to get the parts. But they do not give a timeline at all. This is very frustrating. GMC doesn’t seem to care enough about their customers.

GMC has been unresponsive in servicing the recall for this vehicle as of 10/08/2024. Local dealers indicate they are waiting for parts - related airbags for servicing the recall. As a result, the car is not able to be sold for a fair market value. It is a 2017 model and we are being impacted financially by the issues with this recall and parts that are still unavailable.
Gm has had a pending recall for a couple of months minimum on this vehicle for a critical safety component, the airbags. I have a young child and this is our families only car so they should be fixing this immediately. I have had this same recall done on cars I owned in the past (Honda) and it has never taken this long or been an issue.

Bought vehicle used/as is from dealer about a month after air bag recall announced in 2023. Found out it is apparently illegal to sell a vehicle with an open recall. Dealer did not disclose the recall and I did not research unfortunately. It's been over a year now since air bag was recalled and still no fix and I live in a very hot state. Should never take this long to fix something so dangerous - fatal. Lives are possibly at stake!!! also had to replace temp sensor which cost about $1,000. A/c wasn't working properly. Mechanic said they had to replace the temp sensor. Research shows this is a known issue. Also have had to replace O2 sensors and might have catalytic convertor issue.

Gm is not doing anything to remedy this airbag recall. They are not allowing their own employees to drive the company car with the same recall yet they are expecting the consumer to continue to drive it knowing, if deployed, the driver airbag could explode shrapnel and kill or harm myself and my children in the car. They are not providing any replacement car for me to drive in while they come up with a solution and they are also not wanting to give me anything close to a fair value to trade it in. So, if I want to sell my car, which I own outright, I will lose thousands of dollars from only owning it for three years. They have no remedy or timeline on when one might be available. Gm is the only manufacturer not making right on this recall.

Unknown. The recall came out in may, there has been no remedy made available yet. The recall lists potentially fatal outcomes, and there is no resolution to be had.
Nothing has failed on the vehicle, nor are there any apparent problems. My GMC Acadia is a second vehicle for my household (not a primary vehicle). I also have it listed on turo to make some additional income. With the recall, turo un-listed my vehicle for safety reasons and I also had to cancel a reservation that was already made. The safety recall already identifies the airbags need to be replaced, but it also says parts are not available. The delay in getting a remedy for this recall is causing me to lose income.
