I'm going to have to replace my thermostat and most likely my sensor. It will pop up saying (steering assist is reduced drive with care) my temperature gage on my dash will sometimes will not go up, my heat is acting funny. I've had also when I put it in park saying it's not actually shifted into park.
Error shift to park it come and go all the time. You cannot lock your car when this happens. Cost $500. 00 to repair. . Common problem for r this year.
Shift to park. Shows it’s in park but it is not.
Intermittent shift to park message displayed while vehicle in park,dtcb000aset. Known problem and service bulletin issued but no recall has been issued. Second safety problem safety features disabled, unknown reason why.
Yes, my vehicle is available for inspection upon request. When I go to put my 2019 GMC Acadia in "park" the shifter states it is in park & the dashboard shows it in "p. " however, when I turn the vehicle off, an error message comes up reading "shift to park" and my car wont fully shut off. You can feel the car move forward or backwards a tiny bit (depending where vehicle is parked). This makes me have to turn the vehicle back on, shift into "drive," back into "park," and then shut the engine off and pray the "shift to park" display doesn't come up. This process was repeated this morning when I arrived at walmart 3x before it finally shut off, then when I got home it happened at least 8x before I could safely leave my car in my garage without the worry of it not truly being in park. This has gotten to the point I have bought wheel chalks to put around my car tires because I am afraid this vehicle could roll down my driveway into my neighbor's house or kill some kid playing in our culdesac. I let the last place I was at know & they told me GMC was aware of the issue, but that there was no way to fix it (auto revival in justin, TX). I am unsure as to whether this issue happened for them or not, as nothing was mentioned after being told GMC is aware. That was on January 10th, 2024. No one else has looked at it besides that. It seemed to be occurring less frequently for several months, and then now it is the worst it has ever been.
Driver side blind spot not longer works. When driving the blind spot indicator just stopped working a month ago and I didn't take notice until I almost hit another car. I contacted GMC about this issue as well and was also told there isn't any recall for this and it would have to be diagnosed by there mechanics. There were no other issues prior to this. Also the "shift to park" warning has been popping up for 3 days now when my car is in park. My car won't complete shut everything off until that warning is turned off. I called GMC of puyallup and was told only certain VIN qualifies for the recall for the GMC 2019 Acadia. That's absolutely ridiculous! I can't exit my vehicle until the car senor knows my vehicle is in park which is a major concern and safety issue because my home is on a slope.
My GMC is in the repair shop for the alert (shift to park). I was once again unable to turn off my car and place it safety in park. This is a known issue and GMC dothan states the 2019 GMC Acadia with my VIN number is not on recall?? this is a know dangerous safely issue.
My car will be in park and it always says shift to park when its in park , this is very unsafe. Also when I change gears from park to drive or reverse the rpm revs up gets stuck then drops quick causing the hesitation and then kicks in.
I have a 2019 GMC Acadia with 59051 miles on it, I get regularly oil changes and maintenance but it’s need a transmission. How is this? the mechanic tells me that there is no eta when one will be available when he called to get one. This lets me know that there is a problem with the transmission and they probably should have a recall.
The transmission keeps slipping, clunking, and not shifting correctly. Not shifting or down shifting correctly up and down hold or at stops. My husband is a trained mechanic and has confirmed through his place of employment that the transmission is failing. It hasn’t no yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance. No warning lamps, but the transmission temp rises to 270f+ in regards to the next question. . The issue is ongoing.
When put in park it dings for a long time shift to park. I have read that this is an issue there has been recalls but mine is not on recall. However this does this like every other time I use it . I’m worried I will be left stranded with dead battery.
Unknown 3rd brake light leaking water inside. Health concern due to mold.
“park to shift “ warning keeps showing up when shift the gear to park.
The part broke on my vehicle. Part is on national backorder. I'm expected to be without a vehicle til mid December. I was told no one in the state of louisiana has the part. This has to be affecting a lot of vehicles if this is true. I love my GMC and I hope they make this right. Radiator surge tank inlet hose is the gm part.
The "shift to park" error warning comes on even though the vehicle is in park. The vehicle will not turn off. I had this issue with my 2017 GMC Acadia. They tried to fix it once, but it came back. I see in the 2019 version that they have added an audible dinging to the warning. I would have thought after at least 2 years they would have resolved this issue. They just made it more annoying by adding the dinging.
When putting vehicle in park, it doesn’t always sense it is in park. Will sometimes have to move it back and forth for a couple of minutes.
Shift to park sign appears and doesn’t disappear until I turn and off the car multiple times. It’s been retuning problem for the past two months.
My car will not shut off as I am parked and “shift to park” is alerting me. The car keeps beeping. I have to re-start it multiple times and shift it in and out of park for it to finally go off. This last time it took 25 min to shut my car off.
Our 2019 was repaired back in 2021 for a "shift to park" issue. This same issue is happening again after 2 years of being repaired. We see that there is a major issue with GMC vehicles and there have been recalls for this same exact issue. GMC coleman, lawrence NJ is refusing to fix problem under a recall. We would like this to be covered or reimbursed.
When attempting to park vehicle, the alert "shift to park" populates and the car will not completely shut down. This happens sporadically and can take up to 15 minutes to get vehicle in the right position to completely park and shut off. If it's not in the proper park position, the car can continue running, battery drainage and possible roll out of place. This also causes issues with the transmission not shutting off. I have not had this particular vehicle inspected, but contact with dealer service departments confirms continued complaints of this issue and it has not been addressed by GMC/general motors. Problem has been occurring at various times over last 3 years.
My radio is going crazy. Like going through every radio station, calls people. Its a distraction. And after researching how to fix I noticed thousands of people have the same problem. Almost cause an accident because of the distraction and this is obvious problem in GMC.
During a routine oil and filter change the technician noted that the "rear tow links are excessive play in them. " several GMC vehicles have had numerous recalls to tow links over the years. Dealership suggested the repair and confirmed services were not covered under warranty. After further research into the repair there are countless forums and complaints about GMC vehicles needing tow link replacement. Photos of the original tow links show minimal wear and tear.
My 2019 GMC Acadia with 33,000 miles on it started to give me a notification to "shift to park" even though I had already shifted the vehicle into park. A "ding! ding! ding!" alarm wouldn't go off and the vehicle wouldn't turn off unless I repeatedly changed the gears until it read it was in park. This went on for a few weeks and got progressively worse. I read on a GMC forum that the vehicle could slip out of gear while driving and potentially cause an accident. My mechanic found the shifter assembly to be defective and replaced the entire gearshift lever assembly. He said there was a plastic piece in the gearshift that snapped off and said this was an issue in the older models but thought GMC had fixed this issue by 2019. Unfortunately, I was past my 3 year / 36k mile warranty and had to fork over $1300 to have it repaired.
Backup camera stays on while driving forward.
I am receiving a "shift to park" notification on most instances that I shift the car into park. When this warning engages, the car will not allow me to turn it off as it does not recognize that it is in park. After researching this issue, I found that there is a gm recall for 2017-2019 GMC Acadias for this very issue. However, my VIN is not included in the recall so I do not qualify to have the issue fixed and would have to pay a substantial amount out of pocket.
I do not have current recall on my vehicle, but my vehicle is experiencing the "shift to park" issue that many of the same year make and model mine is experiencing. I am unsure why my vehicle would not have one. It is messing up the transmission and I have only had this vehicle for a year from a dealership. I feel it is unsafe to drive as the vehicle does not always register that it is in park. I can feel the transmission slipping because of this. I would really appreciate some support for this. It is a 2019 GMC Acadia, which is also apart of the other vehicles that are apart of a lawsuit in ohio and other states. This is a safety hazard for myself and my family.
Car will read error code for driver assist is reduced. Which then will shut down ac and thermostat will be locked at cold. This is a known issue with GMC if you look at the forums. Should be looked into. . Read more...
My vehicle just hit 39k miles, it has all of a sudden started giving me a shift into park warning. The sensor is not registering that its in park and will not let you turn car off. There is a recall on the 2017-2018 vehicles for this issue and but many report an issue with the 2019, when I called GMC they would not fix. How to we go about having this included in the recalls?.
Shift to park issue. Car will not go into park. Car will not shut off. Sometimes shifting back and forth or jiggling the shifter will work. Dealer replaced shifter assembly at a cost to me of $777. This was done last week. So far so good, but GMC knew about this problem for quite a while.
I would put my car in park but it would not let me turn the engine off, I would put it back in drive and then park again but it wouldn’t let me turn the engine off. I displayed a message that I needed to put the car in park. I repeated the process and then later it would let me turn the engine off. This happened several times. I took it to my car dealer and they fixed the problem but I had to pay for the repair. They said if there was a recall, they would refund my money. I saw where this same problem was a recall for my vehicle up to 2018. My car is a 2019.
When the vehicle is in park and you try to turn it off with the start/stop button an on dash error code of ‘shift to park’ appears even though the vehicle is clearly in park. You are not able to turn the vehicle off. I am scheduled to take the vehicle in for service on 1/11/24. This currently is forcing me to restart the engine, put my car in reverse, shift back in drive, try re-parking and turning it off again, repeating the process until it eventually turns off. I do not know if my car is truly in gear or not. I’m afraid that it might cause a dangerous situation.
I owned a 2019 GMC Acadia denali with surround vision system (rear camera). In December 2023, my rear camera went out and almost caused me to hit someone while backing up. I don't totally depend on the rear camera when backing, but this time when I turned around to look if anything was behind me I didn't see no one. I took my vehicle to the dealer to get it checked out and to repair it. They found that the vision process module was bad. The technician found that the vpm had internal malfunction and corrosion due to water intrusion damaging vpm completely. Found code b101d for internal failure and not responding to any programming or commands. Replaced vision processing module at a cost of $1348. 90. I wrote to gm explaining the problem and request reimbursment. As of today, no response from gm. Thanks dl.
Shift to park car would not turn off. Had to start car, then go forward and reverse several time so the vehicle would finally recognize it was in park. - this has been going on for almost one year on and off. “steering assist is reduced drive with care” making it hard to steer. The get service “stabilitrak”, “side detection temporarily unavailable”, all wheel drive off, “battery saver activated”, services “battery charging system. ” all lights went out and the car went dark! I was unable to drive the car, had to be towed. - this has happens twice. The first time was on October 2023, the mechanic put in a new alternator, thinking this was the problem. The second time happened 11/29/2023, mechanic is still trying to diagnose the problem/problems. This car has left me stranded and in fear to drive it due to the fact that I lose all vehicle driving ability!! it.
The touch display screen. It has started to constantly go through every setting on the car while driving. I’ve tried turning the screen off. It works for a few minutes and then turns itself back on. It will change radio stations. It will make phone calls if a phone is detected. It is a constant distraction while driving GMC is obviously aware of the problem. You can call a service center. They will tell you that it happens all the time and that the part will cost you around 800$ not including service charges. With how many people depend on display screens in today’s technological ways. It’s only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs from this, if not already that hasn’t been reported. Also this affects more than just my vehicle. It’s across most of GMC models. Several public forums related to this issue.
There is a shift to park issue. When I place the shifter into park and the car is in park, I turn the vehicle off and I have a message action required “shift to park”.
