1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2026

I purchased this vehicle in June 2024 as a demo vehicle with approximately 7,000 miles on it. Within one month of ownership, the vehicle began experiencing serious problems that have continued to worsen. The vehicle currently has approximately 34,000 miles, and the issues have been ongoing from the time of purchase through the present. Since purchasing the vehicle, it has been in the dealership multiple times for the same recurring problems, including but not limited * powertrain issues and loss of power * reduced acceleration while driving * complete electrical failure while driving * engine and electrical warning lights repeatedly turning on * vehicle running excessively hot * water pump replacement * replacement of sensors * thermostat replacement * ongoing engine and electrical system malfunctions despite these repairs, the same problems continue to reoccur. Each time I return the vehicle for service, I am informed that it is a “different issue,” even though the symptoms remain unchanged. This strongly indicates a defective powertrain and/or electrical system that has not been properly repaired. The most serious concern occurred while I was driving on public streets, when the vehicle lost acceleration, electrical power shut off, and the vehicle completely shut down, nearly causing me to be hit by other vehicles. This incident created an extreme safety hazard for myself, my passengers, and other motorists. I have made several formal complaints directly with GMC, and more than four case numbers have already been created regarding this vehicle. Despite these complaints and repeated repair attempts, the problems persist. Given the repeated failures, numerous repair attempts, documented safety risks, and the fact that these issues began shortly after purchase, I believe this vehicle qualifies for relief under applicable lemon laws and consumer protection laws. Incident (critical)vehicle lost acceleration and electrical power and completely stalled while roads.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2025

I experienced the brakes squeaking on and off for a few weeks this past summer. When at the dealership for an oil change, I was told the brakes pads were still good and the squeaking is common, especially during hot humid weather. Since then, I have lost the brakes twice. Both times, the pedal went all the way to the floor without resistance and after a few seconds, they came back like nothing happened. There was no warning at all. I have also experienced a complete blackout on my dashboard for about 30 minutes without known reason. On a separate occasion, the battery died for no reason. There have been times that a message is displayed on the dash to service rear turn signal lights. They flash fast as if they were out, then the next time I drive the car, they are completely normal. From what has been reported, there are some serious concerns with the 2024 Acadia. I have leased 3 Acadia's before this one and have never experienced anything like this. The brakes failing completely could have ended very badly for myself and/or others. There are several other reports of this nature. Please look into recalling this vehicle to prevent fatalities!!.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2025

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the infotainment touch screen failed to display pertinent vehicle safety information. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that the manufacturer was aware of the issue and was working on providing a fix. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 1,000.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2024

I was driving and making a left turn at a traffic light when all of a sudden, every light lit up on my dashboard. Then the dashboard turned completely black along with the radio screen. When the dashboard went black, I tried to stop by hitting the brakes to pull over. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor, and I had zero brakes. I was able to coast to a dirt shoulder where the vehicle stopped due to friction and gravity. The brakes never worked to aid in stopping the motion of my vehicle. I had my vehicle towed immediately to the dealership where I bought it.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2024

This 2024 GMC Acadia will not back up safely on a rainy day. When moving backward, when it raining the emergency braking continually engage, approximately every two feet. I took it to gm dealer service center, it did the same with them. However, they can't correct the problem and gm does not have a fix. Also others vehicle like this one are experiencing the same problem. This has been an ongoing problem since July 5, 2024 in rainy weather. I called gm customer service and have gotten no result. I don't know what to do. Can you all help us (please). Thank you all so very much.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2024

I am filing a complaint about my 2024 GMC Acadia at4, leased brand new from frank's GMC in August 2024, now with a little over 8,000 miles. The brake pads are worn to 35% life, far below the expected 30,000-70,000 miles, with loud squealing, fluid leakage, and odors. This poses a severe safety risk to my family and others, as compromised brakes could fail. In October 2024, before my 3,000-mile oil change, I reported brake concerns to frank’s GMC service manager, javier, who advised waiting. After the November 2024 oil change and tire rotation, only three months after obtaining my vehicle, javier claimed no issues, despite my prior warnings. The problems worsened, with squealing, leakage, and odors persisting. My March 19, 2025, service appointment was delayed, calls ignored, and follow-ups never occurred. Sales manager khaled stated that owner frank confronted javier about avoiding service issues, yet no action was taken. I contacted ten GMC service departments in PA, CT, and MD; they reported similar at4 brake issues, some citing total brake failure. I spoke with gm corporate supervisors, who referred me back to the dealer. Frank’s GMC inspections overlooked my concerns. A local police department safety inspection unit confirmed the issues, but no manufacturer or insurance inspections occurred. The vehicle is available for inspection. I urge NHTSA to investigate this premature brake failure and ensure the 2024 Acadia at4’s safety. The email screenshot I included was sent in April. I contacted the same GMC dealerships that previously reported no issues to check for updates, and they confirmed a change. All of them now report the same problem with brake pads and/or brake failure. This issue is covered under warranty and should be replaced without issue, but dealers are not complying. If overlooked, this could become a national concern.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2024

I bought a brand new GMC Acadia at thompson GMC in raleigh nc. From day 1 I have been having a issue with the tire pressure sensors disconnecting from the system. Thompson GMC was giving me attitude for bringing it back so many times so I brought it to leith GMC in wendell nc for diagnoses. Both shops referred to gm TSB (technical service bulletin) pit6188 which they both tried the reprogramming with no such luck. I was advised to wait for gm to come up with a fix and refused a loaner for the time unless I paid (gm customer care confirmed I would have to pay up front for a loaner). It is now 6 months later and I am still driving a vehicle where lights still come up on the dashboard and no fix. I get no where with the dealerships and gm customer care (case # 9-14086984106) advises me I have to keep bringing it to the dealership. No one can give me a update on when this will be fixed and I am constantly getting a run around. Please help.
