My air conditioning has never been cool on my vehicle, especially in extremely hot weather. I took it in to the dealership several times with the result being there is nothing wrong with it. Finally on the 4th of July it stopped working completely. It was blowing hot air. We took it to the dealership again and they said that the compressor had been failing for some time. Metal shavings had come off and clogged the condensor and filter. The dealership replaced the compressor and the condensor. The air conditioning still is not really cold, but at least it isn't hot.
Power liftgate strut broke or malfunctioned while I was removing items from the trunk. The heavy trunk lid dropped about 18 inches, hit my back and then started to automatically close on my back and head. When the trunk lid hit my body, it still tried close with the power function even though there as an obstruction. I was able to squeeze under the closing lid and escaped injury. I am very concerned that if a child or elderly person were removing items from the trunk that they would have been injured. There are numerous posts on the internet about Acadia liftgate problems.
Purchased a used 2008 GMC Acadia slt1. We have had it for six days. Within those six days we have had water rolling/rushing around our roof liner, water pouring out of both front airbags and under dash, water pouring out of the back dome lights, rear video sensor, and back seatbelts. Both front floor mats saturated with water as well as the carpet underneath. It is to be noted that all of the water pouring out has been witness while driving. This is clearly a driving distraction especially to a new car owner who is not expecting this at all. A driver is not supposed to have any driving distractions while driving. This car was designed with a lot of safety features however water leakage and pouring out of spaces has been greatly over looked. Last night while driving at night in the rain, I had water drip onto my hand from the driver's airbag which took me off guard as I was not expecting it. This was a distraction. We have put our basement room dehumidifier in our Acadia in the garage on this sixth night to help dry out all the water in the carpet and we are sure in the roof liner to hopefully help with any mold that may have started. We have two sons undercare for evironmental allergies and one with asthma. This vehicle cannot be good for him. We now are stressed worrying about what future problems we are going to face from the water damage we can see and that we cannot. The upper electrical components (I. E. Lights, dvd player), the blower under the dash and other interal dash components, and the most serious are the airbags. Will they now work? this has to be the biggest safety concern for GMC. We now have a big false sense of security regarding the air bag deployment in the event of a crash. We cannot comprehend that this has been allowed by our national government safety agencies since 2007! why?.
GMC Acadia 2008. Water leakage from sunroof and or windshield, entering columns containing airbags (water was leaking out of airbags on columns) and down into dash board and down to carpets. Mold building up in roof liner and carpets. Electrical system malfunctions on temperature gauge.
Passenger side headlight doesn't work. Connector is burnt. Appears to be electrical problem and requires entire head light unit to be replaced. Not covered under extended warranty. Cost is ~$600.
Water leaking from front passenger seatbelt in heavy rain. This is also the same are where an airbag is located. The airbag symbol actually has water leaking from it.
I purchased my 2007 GMC Acadia in April 2011 used from carmax. On may 6, 2011, I had in bring it in because I noticed water and loud wind noise. They had told me that the gasket seal on the sunroof had to be replaced because that is where the water was leaking from into the headliner and into my car. After that I still had the same issues but had no time to bring it to get fixed. The water has leaked from the moonroof area, from the reading light on the third row, from front diver and passenger door airbags, from the passenger seatbelt area, and from the headliner above the middle row. On July 7, 2012 the leaking happened again so I called gm. They said that the recall or customer satisfaction drain tube extenders were done on 2-9-09 at 26,139 miles and that the tubes may be clogged. I was told I should take it in to a GMC dealership to see what the problem was. I took it in on July 12, 2012 and was told that it was the sunroof gasket that needed to be changed and that the tubes were not clogged. They could see where it was coming from the seal. So it cost me 240. 00 to have that fixed and gm said they would not help pay because the issue had been resolved with the drain tube extenders. I got my vehicle back on July 16, 2012 the gm district specialist asked me if I was satisfied with the work and I told him I was not sure because it had not rained again yet. Well, on July 19, 2012 it rain and the 240. 00 I paid to the have problem fixed by replacing the sunroof gasket seal still has not fixed the problem. This is very disappointing and not safe because of the electrical and airbags that are getting wet with water. Will my airbags work in an accident since they have had water coming from where it says airbag!.
I own a 2008 GMC Acadia. Water leeks from the roof of the car coming in through the sun roof and then leaking through the top cover of the ceiling down onto the third row and down through the front beans where the fuse box is. I have contacted gm multiple times they gave me a referance # of 71-941161425 they continue to say that my truck does not fall under the recall even though they have recalled the same model and year for the exact same reasons. This has the potential of shorting out the fuse box while driving making this truck unsafe to drive the the potential of mold build up. I ahve a 15 month old daughter that is supposed to ride in this and the last thing I need is water from the cieling driping on here that has gone through the mold that has built up inbetween the roof and the cieling cover. GMC refuses to do anything about this stating that is out of warenty. If this fuse box shorts out while we are driving and causes an accident where bodily harm is done GMC is directly responsible for it. I have bought this car recently thinking it would be safe and I was wrong.

Dealer ship location burlington nc 27215, david wescott dealer ship.
Repeated (at least 5 times) leak along the airbag driver and passenger side. Dealer says they fix it and the problem reappears on the next rain event. Causing electrical problems and mold problem in the car.
I noticed that when driving on an expressway and would attempt to pass a slower moving vehicle, as I would move into the passing lane and attempt to accelerate, the car would hesitate for a few seconds, lose speed, then suddenly downshift and accelerate at an unexpected rate. I also noticed that the car would unexpectedly accelerate or decelerate under normal driving conditions. I bought the vehicle to the dealer for repair, they responded that they could find nothing wrong, but the what I was experiencing was characteristic of the 6-speed transmission on the vehicle. The problem continued and I found it dangerous. I returned the vehicle and the dealer's remedy was to "reset the transmission computer. " during this time, I also noticed that the "service stabilitrac and traction control" warning would come on. Onstar recommended I shut off the engine to reset the system. I found this only happened when I first used the car in the mornings to go to work. Again, the dealer said there was nothing wrong and the computers were showing no codes -- they also stated that they could not duplicate the problem. I got the car back from the dealer and it happened again - at 7:00 am. I called onstar and they gave me two codes. I bought the car back to the dealer and gave him the codes. It now seems that there were two defective sensors controlling the stabilitrac / traction control system and how they communicate with the transmission. I was told that gm is changing manufacturers on the sensors. I have not had use of the car since the beginning of June and am still waiting for gm to produce these parts. In the meantime, unexpected acceleration, deceleration, and gear shifting was occurring under all driving situations causing -- in my mind -- a danger to myself, my passengers, and others. The dealer has had the car on five different occasions since June 8. This last service they have had the car since July 20.
2008 Saturn outlook (same as GMC Acadia, Buick enclave and chevy traverse) the headlamp wiring harness as designed is likely and does got so hot that the wiring clip to the bulb burns/scorches. It renders the headlamp very intermittent and then fails. The gm p/n is 20858015. It is a $49 part . . . And a $200+ install due to the ridiculous complexity of getting to the headlamp and that it goes back into the car. Recall is very much necessary.
