We have experienced multiple recurring issues with our 2024 GMC Acadia that raise significant safety concerns and affect the vehicle’s reliability and overall operation. First, the brake system exhibits persistent squeaking, even at low speeds or light applications. The dealership has inspected the brakes but the noise continues, raising concerns about premature wear or improper brake function. More concerning is the behavior of the automatic braking system while reversing. The system has repeatedly activated the brakes without any obstacle, vehicle, or person behind us. These unexpected braking events have created both physical and psychological stress for occupants and pose a real risk of causing a rear-end collision from another driver who may not anticipate sudden braking. Due to this hazardous condition, we have been forced to deactivate the automatic braking feature entirely, defeating a critical safety system the vehicle is equipped with. Additionally, the engine frequently runs rough during cold start and the initial warm-up period for the first couple of minutes. This rough operation is inconsistent with expected behavior for a new vehicle and has not been fully resolved despite service visits. The tpms sensors have also been problematic. Several sensors have already been replaced by the dealership, yet we continue to experience intermittent tpms faults involving at least two wheels. This results in repeated warnings, loss of real-time tire data, and uncertainty about actual tire pressure conditions while driving. We also experience rattling noises from the interior trim near the door seals whenever there is a cross breeze or windy driving conditions. This appears to be a structural or insulation-related issue. We have others, but this space only allows for 2000 characters, and after writing this sentence, there are only 113 characters remaining.
Lift gate closes by itself I have to put a pole to hold it up and it won’t hit me, it says the air bags needs to be serviced, stabilitrak keeps going off, ball bearing needs work. Radio won’t turn on no sound on air signals, the body chasis something popped while driving, the tracking control keeps turning off, the seats move while driving, catalytic converter are moving car only go 12 mpg.
The check engine light came on 12/2023. The vehicle was taken to pep boys and autozone in MD, walmart and o'rilley in bastrop, la, o'rilley in midlothian, TX. They could not find any problems with the vehicle. I took the vehicle to GMC in plano, TX. They charged me for a new battery but the check engine light remained on after I picked up the vehicle with a newly installed battery. The delaership said it would eventualy go off. I took the car to automotive soulutions in September 2024 and they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle. The car can not pass texas inspection with a check enging light on. There is a large group on fb having this same problem. August 2024 the car will recognize when it is shifted into park. Sometimes it rolls after puting the car in park. I took the car to automotive soulutions in September 2024 and they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle. There is a large group on fb having this same problem. I took the car into a GMC dealership in MA because I hit a curb in 2021. The steering wheel feels lose. I took the car in 2022 & 2023 for the same problem. The delaership charges me for repairs but there is a reoccurring steering problem. Other drivers have noticed this problem with my vehicle.
During a routine oil and filter change the technician noted that the "rear tow links are excessive play in them. " several GMC vehicles have had numerous recalls to tow links over the years. Dealership suggested the repair and confirmed services were not covered under warranty. After further research into the repair there are countless forums and complaints about GMC vehicles needing tow link replacement. Photos of the original tow links show minimal wear and tear.
I bought a brand new GMC Acadia at thompson GMC in raleigh nc. From day 1 I have been having a issue with the tire pressure sensors disconnecting from the system. Thompson GMC was giving me attitude for bringing it back so many times so I brought it to leith GMC in wendell nc for diagnoses. Both shops referred to gm TSB (technical service bulletin) pit6188 which they both tried the reprogramming with no such luck. I was advised to wait for gm to come up with a fix and refused a loaner for the time unless I paid (gm customer care confirmed I would have to pay up front for a loaner). It is now 6 months later and I am still driving a vehicle where lights still come up on the dashboard and no fix. I get no where with the dealerships and gm customer care (case # 9-14086984106) advises me I have to keep bringing it to the dealership. No one can give me a update on when this will be fixed and I am constantly getting a run around. Please help.
The vehicle tire system lights came on the air bag sensor light car did not fill safe driving no control on the road unstable on turns car was sold one lug muissing front tire ,returned car several times last time I took the vehicle was due to drivesrs back wheel wobbling so bad , someone followeing said it looked like tire was coming off . The owner said it was fine , put it on the rack let me drive off , I drove it and it was very unstable to drive and took it to nor cal tires ukiah CA they informed me it was not safe to drive .
After exiting the highway onto a side road, the vehicle began to shake violently (like we were on a very bumpy road). I pulled into a parking lot thinking we had a flat tire. Then the vehicle suddenly came to a stop and would not move forward and would not move backwards. There was no flat tire, but I noticed that the front left tire was turned inward in the direction that the steering wheel was turned, but the front right tire was also turned inward at a much greater angle. At first glance, I could see behind the tire that the tie rod had detached from the front right tire resulting in no steering capabilities for the vehicle. The tie rod has a large bolt that attaches it to the tire, and the bolt was missing. Had this happened on the highway just a few minutes earlier, the resulting accident could have been catastrophic. I paid to have the car towed to the dealership and when the tow truck driver arrived he took one look at the vehicle and said "this should have never happened". The dealership could not explain how the tie rod lost the bolt and there was no visible damage to the tie rod. My concern is that had this happened at 60mph, the car could have flipped or the car would have been abruptly turned into the median wall at 60mph. Tried to upload images, but could not upload.
Rear driver side cast aluminum knuckle/hub assembly fractured. The rear wheel partially separated from the suspension with uncontrolled toe, camber, & caster. Wheel impacted suspension linkage causing fracture of rear driver side rotor. Vehicle is available for inspection. Incident caused driver to lose control of vehicle and go into ditch unknown if problem has been reproduced vehicle/component has not been inspected no warning symptoms prior to failure.
Incomplete recalls.
I parked uphill on my driveway and put car in park to drop off groceries . My trunk didn’t not open which usually only happens when vehicle is in drive. I felt my car begin to move so I jumped in to discover dash said shift to park. This is major safety issue and happens quite often now. Under this circumstance vehicle can’t turn off. Had to replace battery for always draining. Also seatbelts in back seat and passenger seat do not buckle. There was a recall at one point however it disappeared from my dash board and now reads as completed however I never had the opportunity to correct the recall.
Traveling at highway speed and had a catastrophic loss of air suddenly and went from 40psi to 0 psi in about 15 seconds. Occurred on passenger side rear. Upon inspection of tire nothing was found in evidence to have caused this failure. Two different agency's examined tire and said it was irreparable. In doing some research on this found that this brand of tires - continental cross xl sport cross contact model has been involved with a recall for over cured tires causing sudden loss of air. Both the dealer and gm stated that our tires are not included in this recall. We were driving on the parkway and had not hit anything or ran over anything to cause this. We feel that these tires should be also part of recall. We are replacing the other three tires on the vehicle as we do not feel safe driving with those tires.
Vehicle when put in park does not shut off. Took to hillsdale GMC 1/13/20 and it was okay for awhile. This same problem started about 3 mo ago again. Put in park will not shut off. You may have to restart, pull into gear, back to park, over and over! very annoying especially if you have an appointment!.
The Acadia has 23,700 miles on and the tires are wearing out. New ties shouldn't be needed until 60,000 miles. This is a lot of difference in what should be obtained by these tires.
Both rear tires, michelin total performance with 29,322 miles on them are losing chunks of rubber from the tread. The treads are not down to the wear lines. This is a safety issue and because I am the second owner of the vehicle, the dealership will not help me. This was first noted when the car was sitting in the driveway.
Premature tread wear on all 4 tires. Car has 34400 miles on it. Took car in for oil change and asked service department to look at tires. I was told this is a problem seen a lot with 2017 Acadias. Service department told me that michelin would pay to replace all 4 tires but would split the cost with me, meaning I have to pay 500-600 dollars for new tires when GMC and michelin know this is an issue. These are 60000 mile tires and should not be worn this badly at 34400 miles. I lease this car and have a year left. I do not feel I should have to pay anything to replace defective tires. I was also told that michelin's offer to split cost is only good until 36000 miles which doesn't give me much time to decide what to do or pursue a more satisfactory resolution. If I don't replace the tires in the next month or so, I will have to pay full cost to replace them later. If I turn the car in early, I have 13 payments left to roll into a new lease which increases my monthly payment significantly. Michelin and/or gm need to do the right thing and put all new tires on at no cost to me.
Front tires have started coming apart; such as, tearing or ripped tread. Similar to looking like they were "gouged" with something. Tires are rotated with each oil change on a regular basis. Purchased vehicle new with 440 miles, and currently have 33,xxx miles on these tires. Just recently noticed this on the 2 front tires, so date "happened" is date it was first noticed. Vehicle has not been in any kind of accident, or off road, or driven recklessly.
Michelin premier ltx m/s 235/55r20 dry rot or cracking between treads all 4 tires 30,000 miles doesn't seam right.
Water leaking in threw back windows, side walls , water coming in there plastic in doors both front and back, water coming in back up under head liner. This all happening after rainfall and the car was parked in drive. This car only has 8,000 miles on it purchased brand new in October 2018 off show room floor, I am the only owner. I have pictures to support all of this as well, including water damage.
Battery died, had to have replaced. Car was approximately at 2 year mark when it died.
All four of the goodyear tires that were previously installed had to be replaced earlier this year to cracking. Front tires kept losing pressure and then became flat, was advised by the dealership this was due to the tread cracking.
We leased a 2017 GMC Acadia back in oct. Of 2016. Last week my wife was driving home in wet conditions due to rain and going around 35 miles per hour where she hydroplaned the car. Luckily when she hit the curb, the car corrected itself and luckily there was nothing more serious. We took the car to a local garage to inspect and upon review, he stated that all 4 tires have dry rot and should be changed immediately. He advised us to go back to the dealership. When I called to make an appointment, they stated that the tires are wear and tear and are not covered however I feel these are defective tires. We have 26k miles on the car and this oct. Will be 3 years so we are averaging under 10k a year. I am attaching pictures so you can see what we are speaking of and ask you to advise us and our dealership which is van buren Buick GMC located in new hyde park, NY. I do not feel safe driving with these tires and ask that you step in and assist us. I have 2 young daughters and do not want something more happen until this is addressed.
As I was approaching a red light, I pressed on my breaks and heard a grinding noise coming from the driver side front tire. My car would not accelerate much, I pushed on the brakes and then the gas and started to move. As I was driving I felt the car pulling. I noticed the abs traction control off, all wheel drive off, and stabilitrack lights all came on. I called the local GMC dealership service center. Now just waiting to hear back from them.
Goodyear fortera hl p255/65r18 109s tires - my car was parked yesterday for a short time when the rear right tire deflated for no reason. The spare was put on the car and driven 10 miles home. Today the vehicle was driven to the tire repair shop to be looked at because there was a straight crack in the center of the tread. As the car was slowed down to turn in the tire shop the left tire "popped" and deflated. Upon inspection of this tire, the same straight crack in the center of the tire is confirmed. Goodyear recalled this tire for this same issue and the tire needs investigated for additional production times.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 GMC Acadia equipped with good year tires, tire line: fortera hl, tire size: p255/65r18, and dot number:4bxmardr3514. The contact stated that the front passenger tires was leaking air. The vehicle was taken to goodyear auto service center 1010 e black horse pike, pleasantville, NJ 08232 (609) 641-7694 where they informed that the tires where dry rotten and they needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA campaign number: 15t002000(tires) and that the tires will not be repaired for free. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000. Dr.
I have a concern with all 4 of my tires on my 2016 GMC Acadia. These tires were manufactured on the 10th week of 2016. I purchased my truck 4/12/2016. I have taken my truck to good year service station and GMC as instructed by gm to no avail. They are saying that this is wear an tear. All of my tires are dry rotted. My truck is only 2 years old and has 22,509 miles. The life expectancy for tire wear and tear is approximately 6 years. I do not agree with this outcome because my fianc has a Cadillac escalade 2015 which he purchased in 2014 and he drives and haul's car and his tires are in better condition then mine. I have my grandbabies in my truck and now worry of a tire blow out. If I experience a blow out I will sue both good year and GMC. I don't feel safe driving in my truck and I don't feel that I should pay out of pocket when these tires are clearly defective. The batch pervious to my tire batch were recalled. Who's to say that these tires are also defective. I have attached photo for verification. I am ashamed of GMC for not taking this serious as I have. It just doesn't make sense that in just 2 tires all 4 of my tires are dry rotted! this is unacceptable to me. All I wanted was peace of mind and that they would replace these tires. Thank you for your time. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
I have had a vibration in my car when you would drive all the time took it to the dealership on a number of occasions they couldn't figure it out. They all said it was normal why the car drives. I thought it was the tires. Took it to ntb talk to them about he said it's tires most likely. So I call tire manufacturer and they gave me new tires. I requested gm do this they told me no. I had them replaced by ntb I requested to gm they reimburse for the installation of the tires which was a little over $101. 00 they said no. I want to be helped with this. Gm didn't want to do what is right and fix the issue also pay me back for what should have been covered under warranty but wouldn't replace the tires so I had to do what I had to to give my wife and son a safe car to be in. Can you please help me out.
Goodyear eagle rs-a tires under 6 months old burst from sidewall. The first tire had a slow side wall leak that may have initiated while driving on local roads. The second tire spontaneously burst at the sidewall while driving on the highway at a speed in excess of 65 mph. The hole was large enough for roadside to put his finger through. No tire pressure sensors noted an issue prior to both events.
Fuel gage continuously shows full then a few mins later empty even after filling up take, gage shoes tire levels in accurately, lights will flicker and won't shut off after turned off completely, driver seat continues to wiggle loose even after tightening back over and over, when vehicle isn't sitting in park on after about 30minutes or so it will begin to shake, sputter then finally stall reguardless of accelerating to restart it will still stalk when driving for awhile the vehicle will randomly jerk forward while driving and feel like it loses power while driving as well even after I took it to a certified mechanic and having a sensor changed(which a diagnostic test indicated was wrong) along with an oil change we also noticed that the recalls that were listed prior to us purchasing the vehicle should've been addressed weren't we notified the dealership they said they'd look at those recalls from then but we would have to pay for them at our own cost and that the recalls and issue sales we had talked about weren't listed so at this point we're unable to take the family vehicle too far from home considering we live 30 mins outside of tucson, we have four kids and my husband is a disabled veteran we even stated to the dealership we needed a dependable vehicle thank you for your time.
I discovered a flat tire and called aaa to put on my spare. They said the spare "donut" had dangerous rust on the bolt holes and refused to mount the rim on my vehicle. They cited a case in a prior week where they mounted a rim like this and it fell off the car. These rusty rims are mounted under the vehicle and represent an unsafe situation. I called gm and they referred me to the dealership. The dealership called gm and they agreed ,as a one time courtesy,to replace the rim. The next day, they called and said they wouldn't replace it but would give me$100 gift card. I said,I need a spare, not a gift card. I sent another e-mail explaining how disappointed I was with them backing down on their word and they offered me road hazard coverage, again I refused and stated I need a safe spare tire I think these spare wheels should be recalled or at least inspected--they are unsafe. . And no one's going to notice it until it's too late. I'll have to go through the expense of buying a new spare--the one that came with my care is unsafe and dangerous.
I have goodyear fortera hl tires on my Acadia and started having problems with them just at 1 month after I leased my car. The first problem was that I ended up with a major flat tire & it was just a big hole in the large tread. Since then the tires never hold inflation. . . All of them. I hydroplane when turning on roads that are only slightly wet and the entire car slides sideways. I now need to replace these tires at just 30,000 miles when the supposed mileage warranty is 60k. There was a recall for this exact tire but the production recall ended at just two weeks prior to when mine were produced. However, my tires are doing the same exact things that the recalled tires did and these should be included in the recall as well. The treads have cracks, splits and pits in them just as the recalled tires and have issues with psi/inflation as well. They are not safe to drive on and need replaced ASAP.
Was driving and tiring pressure sensor warning came on and was showing I was losing pressure so slowed down in time where the tire was completely flat. Valve stem was cracked and broke off. Took in to get fixed and he found that two others were cracked so they could go bad as well. Luckily was not on highway when tire deflated.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that he attempted to put air in the tire and the valve stem fractured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the tpms sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 44,300.
Constant vibration early in mornings from tires and rims. Gm said its bridgestone, bridgestone says its gm.
Driving along at approx. 25mph and transmission suddenly lost power. The car was turned off and on randomly to apply power to the transmission for a couple of minutes to drive it back home. Thank god I had just left home! never, ever received a notice from GMC nor the dealer regarding power train problems. The car has been sitting since then (now going on approx 8 mos. Because I have not been able to afford approx. $3,500 for a new transmission. The saddest part . . . I don't even have a notification as to where to take it to get repaired.
While attempting to maneuver out of a parking space, my wheels locked up. Still thinking the wheel had turned enough, I attempted to clear a cement bea, however the car rolled into it. I was told that the tire had detatched from the car "rod under the car" which prevented me from turning.
The power steering stopped working while driving and I had to complete emergency maneuvers to get the car off of the road.
I have been very disappointed with my vehicle! when I was in the market for a new vehicle I new I wanted the Acadia. I have been a long time customer at my local dealership and when I arrived at the lot they had just brought in a 2008 that had one owner. I was exstatic because it was everything I could want and not as expensive as a 2012. When I first started driving it it was great I loved it! I bought the car with 8,000 or so miles on it and as time went on I started to notice that it wasn't driving like it did the first day I bought it. I drive to and from work 5 days week roughly 35 miles a day. I was in town at the bank and as I started to pull out into the lane my rpm's went sky high and wouldn't come back down and I could not accelerate. I was so scared I pulled over in the next available spot and turned off the car. I waited for 5 minutes, turned it back on and proceeded to pull into traffic. Ever since that day my car has been in the shop twice for transmission issues. I currently have 29,000 miles on the car and it drives like crap! I have it aligned, tires rotated, and I cannot get a smooth ride. The steering wheel shimmies over 50 mph, shimmies when I hit the breaks, my heater doesnt seem to work well unless it is on 85 way too hot. I now have to take the car back into the shop yet again for the same thing transmission failer, alignment off, and who knows what else. I read a lot reviews on this model and seems as though we have all experienced the same issues. I have been a long time pontiac/GMC buyer and I am very disappointed in gm for not taking this transmission thing serious. How many more complaints do you need to recieve before something is done? fatel accident? in which case I hope it isn't me but also nobody else. Please fix this issue it has been a thorn for some time and it's about time that gm do something about it!.
Power steering stops working for 5 to 10 seconds after making a turn through water often no more than a few inches in depth. Usually occurs during or after rain, when water has accumulated at intersection corners or resident/business entrances. When this occurs, it becomes almost impossible to change the direction the vehicle is traveling in and has almost resulted in an accident twice so far.
The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that when driving in rainy or icy weather, the tires would spin abnormally when accelerating from a stop and would not grip the pavement. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was test driven. The dealer informed the contact that they were unable to locate a failure within the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who informed the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for further inspection. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who advised the contact that the vehicle was safe to drive. The failure mileage was 1,000 and the current mileage was 16,000.
