Two problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1999 GMC C1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
02/22/2007 brake pressure module valve (abs) failed.
When applying the brakes while coming to an intersection, if one of the rear tires hit a tar strip, chuck hole or bump in the pavement, the truck goes into abs braking, reducing stopping distance, which could caused a crash. The problem has been reported to the dealership. Dealer stated that the system was working normally.
