One problem related to fuel pump has been reported for the 1997 GMC C2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Fuel tank pump and sending unit, located in tank, was replaced due to burning of internal connector. This burning caused extreme venting of gas vapors during tank fill up, and could have caused an explosion. I posses the old part which clearly shows the burned worse and plug connector.
