Two problems related to brake hoses, lines/piping, and fittings have been reported for the 2000 GMC C2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Brake failure due to corrosion of hydraulic brake lines.
No incident yet. . . Extensive rust on brake lines near engine. . . Also excessive rust pitting on brake rotors. Gm dealer says caused by salt. . Truck is 2000 model with less than 60,000 miles. I am afraid brake lines may rupture prematurely due to excessive rust and pitting. Independent mechanics verify my feelings.
