The contact owns a 2001 GMC 2500 hd. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the crank shaft position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 07v521000 (engine and engine cooling) that may be related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 54,500.
