The contact owns a 2002 GMC 2500 hd pickup. The vehicle was equipped with michelin ltx/ms tires, tire size 265/75/16 (n/a). While driving approximately 60 mph, a loud noise sounded from the exterior of the vehicle. The contact coasted to the shoulder where he noticed that the rear driver's side tire exploded. The defective tire was replaced with the spare tire. The vehicle was taken to a tire center where two new tires were mounted onto the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 104,828.
