One problem related to transmission gear slipping has been reported for the 2002 GMC C2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2003

The allison 1000 with the duramax diesel, during the cold weather the transmission will slip from first to second gear. This will only happen when the transmission is cold. I spoke to my transmission shop and they said the solution to this is to flush the transmission and refill with a pure synthetic transmission fluid for a cost of about $ 400. 00. Should there be a recall about this or a service bulliten.
