1 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

Check engine light comes on intermittently indicating misfire when idling; car is shaking and rattling there's a special coverage letter #07123a but GMC does not cover intake leakage issue once vehicle is passed 7 yrs or 100k miles, even though they are aware of the problem since 2007. If you are not the original owner, there is no way to be notified or contacted. My dealer never made me aware of the issue after purchasing the truck. Now I'm passed the extended warranty and am supposed to cover the full costs. This is customer fraud since its a manufacturing problem related to the engine - all 2004-06 GMC Canyons are affected by this. This needs a recall - not extended warranty!.

2 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2012

Check engine light came on truck became ruff idling and shaking and powering itself off.

3 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2008

Recently purchased used 2005 GMC Canyon, two days after purchase check engine light came on and stayed, the truck did not run rough or make noises. Took directly back to dealership, it was determined the oxygen sensor was bad. Replaced. Five days later the same thing happened. . . Diagnostics determined catalytic converter, oxygen sensor and exhaust intake were all related. All repairs now complete and appear to be no other issues after driving the vehicle 3 days.

4 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2005

I was driving at the time of failure. Engine light comes on and I took it to the shop to run a diagnostics. These are the codes p0106, p0300 and p0506 that are causing the engine light to keep coming on. This is the second time this has happen. First time the parts replaced were oxygen sensor and the computer back in Dec 2005. Now its Feb 2006 and I need to take it in again for same problem.
