The contact owns a 2023 GMC Canyon. The contact stated that upon activating the defroster during cold winter weather, he became aware that the defroster failed to properly defrost the front windshield and that the windshield wipers failed to adequately remove ice debris, potentially compromising windshield visibility. After a visual inspection of the windshield, the contact observed that ice had damaged the windshield wipers. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 3,000.
The contact owns a 2023 GMC Canyon. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the defroster had failed to properly defrost the windshield. The contact also stated that because of the failure, the windshield wipers had failed to function properly after becoming frozen. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the defroster was operating as intended; however, the design was inadequate to defrost the entire front windshield. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 3,000.
Gm is pushing updates over the air that are permanently disabling the backup camera by damaging the camera control module. Not sure yet how long we’ll have to wait for the part. I’ve heard of many that have been waiting months. They should not be pushing out defective software when it takes out the safety equipment.
