Traction Control System problem #1

The contact owns a 2016 GMC Canyon. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the traction control warning light illuminated and the messages "service power steering" and “service stabili-trak" were displayed. Additionally, the contact stated that the steering wheel became stiff and was very difficult to turn. On several occasions, the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the failure was not duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,000.

Traction Control System problem #2

Tl the contact owns a 2015 GMC Canyon. While driving 25 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. Also, the "power steering drive safely" and traction control warning indicators illuminated. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 16v054000 (steering). The vehicle was taken to autostar Chevrolet Buick of waynesville (located at 285 hyatt creek rd, waynesville, nc 28786, (888) 341-3972) where it was diagnosed that the steering gear assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 101,705.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 GMC Canyon. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle lost power and the power steering assist and traction control warning indicators illuminated. In addition, the "service select a track" message appeared and the steering ability became very difficult. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and shut off the vehicle. After approximately three minutes, the vehicle was restarted and operated normally. The contact stated that the failure occurred twice in a week. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v054000 (steering). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

Traction Control System problem #4

2017 GMC Canyon. Consumer writes in regards to transmission issue. The consumer stated the dealer initially could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was later left with the dealer to attempt to duplicate the failure. The power steering, traction control, and stability messages appeared.

Traction Control System problem #5

Abs sensor fault appears and continues to stay on. When light turns off terrible noise and vibration occurs when braking. I am concerned for the safety of my 3 year old and myself as the brakes do no react as they should. I have taken it and had the brakes replaced, the sensors replaced and the problem continues.
