There is an extreme unsafe condition that exist on all 2012 GMC Canyon pickups. There is no way to turn off the automatic door locks on these pickups. If these truck are involved in an accident and no one inside is coherent enough to put the truck in park
the truck will remain locked, this could prevent bystanders from being able to open the doors and rescue
any one. If there is a fire involved the passengers will burn to death needlessly. General motors will not make any effort to resolve this serious problem. Please exibite this request to have GMC reprogram the truck so that the locks can be turned off. The 2004 Canyons had this choice in their programming.

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Canyon. The vehicle was purchased on March 5, 2008 and two days later, the contact realized that there was no keyhole on the passenger side. The rearview mirror reflected the instrument panel instead of the rear of the vehicle. The rear window has no molding, which will cause major damage to the driver's head in the event of a crash. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer, but they were unwilling to make the adjustments. The failure mileage was 22,900. Updated 06/30/08.

I have a 2006 Canyon and in the last year I have had to replace tail lights, three sterios,4x4 buttons, windows, wiring has been repaired severial times, the truck is excessivly hard on gass, and as soon as my inline five cylinder engine hit 31. 000 km I had to take it back to the dealer once again ,this time for a new engine. Apparently there only good for thirty thousand and then need to be replaced. Hard to believe this truck cost me almost forty thousand dallors. Dont get what you pay for with a gm. My next truck will be a Toyota and this Canyon has convinced me to never buy another gm product again and hopfully I can save some people from making the same mistake I did.
I own a 2004 GMC Canyon, and someone parked too close to my driverside for me to get into the vehicle, when I went to the passengers side I discovered there was no lock in the passenger door. I do not have keyless entry. I was trying to get into the vehicle to reach my medication. I had no way into the vehicle. The dealer did not disclose the absence of a passenger side door lock. This cannot be safe, what if a child was in the truck.
