Two problems related to anti-theft controller have been reported for the 1998 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My 1998 GMC Jimmy has the passlock system. It has on several occasions left me stranded because of the security system thinking I'm stealing my own car. This is very frustrating and should be taken care of by the manufacturer.
The key will not release from the ignition which may potentially cause anti-theft problems. The only way the key can be removed is to take the vehicle to a repair shop.
