The multi-function switch developed an open circuit condition that resulted in the stop lamps and the rear hazard lamps becoming inoperative. 2 Hazard Flashing Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2004

I was pulled over by a police and given a ticket for no brakes lights. I knew that I had checked my brake lights periodically and they had worked. Took it in to be check out and found that the multi-function switch was not operating correctly. My mechanic stated that in the last 6 months that he replaced several of these. I called GMC and spoke with a gentleman and told him that I just paid $394 for this part and he stated that it was recalled and to send my receipts and I could get reimbursed. Now I got a denial letter stating that they are not going to give me my refund and I am very upset. $400 is a whole paycheck to me.
