One problem related to hydraulic power assist steering system has been reported for the 2001 GMC Safari. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When the brakes were applied, it took longer for the vehicle to stop. The consumer stated the vehicle vibrated to the point where the windows rattled when the brakes were applied. Also the power steering pump shaft was replaced.
