Front Seat Belt Buckle Assembly Problems of GMC Safari

While driving driver's seat belt unbuckled on its own. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the seat belt buckle needed to be replaced. Then, driver noticed that the turn signal and brake lights were inoperative. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic informed determined that the brake light and turn signal flasher switch needed to be replaced.

Driver's side seat belt failed to lock when vehicle was involved in a frontal collision. Dealer and manufacturer were not notified at this time. Feel free to provide any further information.

My daughter was attempting to hook her seatbelt before we left a parking lot and the buckle literally fell apart in her hand. This was a rear belt with no doors nearby so it had not been damaged in any way prior to its failure. Our concern is that had we been in an accident it would not have protected our child. The dealer says that we are responsible for the cost of the replacement as well.

Conversion van, shoulder seatbelt on driver's side will not lock or stay in place, causing loss of protection.
