Steering Problems of GMC Safari

There were two cases: first I was involved in a wreck with a car hitting me in the rear so hard that my back compartments wont open and now the air bag light is on and wont go off. Another case was as I was driving slowly to the laundry matt my power steering quit while my brakes went to the floor. It scared me to death and is broke down now. My three children are usually with me always. I have an 18 yr old autistic girl, a 13 yr old boy and a 4 year old boy. I'm a stay at home mom and used my ride for the children. Now I'm scared to drive it and dont know if anyone can help me.

When I was driving to do laundry. I lost all control of the power steering and the brakes were gone. This scared me to death also my air bag light is staying on plus the battery light and brakes.

Driver noticed that the steering system did not work properly. It took approximately four to five attempts to make a complete u-turn. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic claimed that it was normal.

1. The breaking system is real bad that caused a great shaking in the stirring wheel. 2. Unusual sound in the back of the van 3. Rattling noise in the shelves 4. Stirring wheel is not working good when making a u-turn, I need several attempts before making a complete u-turn. 5. Noise in the driver's side door and other minor problems.

Brakes werent working well, then noticed heater didnt work, speed odemter didnt work. Took to GMC repair shop, was told GMC as a problem with fuel injectors leaking in to dash of vehicles. Large repair bill. Needs new wiring harness, fuel injectors, metering body not sure what else til they fix dash. Recommended not to drive more damage will occor or will short out other things. Or cause a fire. GMC wont back up their vehicle. Debbie lull.

Started vehicle in the garage and heard a clunking & grinding noise. Kept vehicle running, backed out of the garage, turned the wheel, and there was no steering. Went to apply brakes , and there were no brakes. Contacted dealer. . Vehicle lost power and brakes due to tension pulley was broke.

Applied brakes, but van kept traveling causing vehicle to run the stop sign, relized that power steering and brakes were inoperative.

My fuel guage shows full regardless how much fuel is in the tank, rear door handle broke this is third GMC with this problem, sliding door does not work properly,.

While driving steering system malfunctioned, and the vehicle experienced no braking ability. Driver had to apply the emergency parking brake in order to stop the vehicle. Currently, vehicle at the dealer. Please provide further information.

Driver could not avoid hitting other vehicle due to steering locking up when applying the brakes.
