Door Hinge problems of the 1997 GMC Savana

Two problems related to door hinge have been reported for the 1997 GMC Savana. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Door Hinge problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2003

Side cargo doors progressively harder to open until rear upper hinge snapped. Door left hanging, very dangerous. Not rusted or abused.

2 Door Hinge problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2000

Upper hinge pin falling out of hinges, and causing doors to drop. Unable to close properly;. Dealer / manufacturer notified, and refused to repair unless cost goes to consumer. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
