One problem related to transmission gear indicator has been reported for the 1997 GMC Savana. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
At 38,000 miles vehicle would shift hard between gear changes, only when traveling long distance. Consumer stated that while the transmission started hard shifting from first to second gear the engine light came on.
