One problem related to engine exhaust system has been reported for the 1999 GMC Sierra 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Broken exhaust manifold bolts. Factory installed exhaust manifold bolts routinely break on both sides of the engine. Nature of the failure and location of the broken bolts in the heads of the engine most often necessitate very expensive professional repair.
