On February 15, 2012 at approximately 11:00am, driving down a two lane paved highway, the cross pin in the rear differential gear housing failed and parts of it fell into the gears causing the rear tires to lock up and the vehicle to skid out of control into the oncoming traffic lane. Luckily, oncoming traffic was able to stop in time avoiding an accident. This was verified by american collision in rutland, vt as the cause of the failure.
