Abs system board - sylinoid solder connections vibrate loose causing fault codes. Abs light and emergency brake light remain lit on dash. Truck brakes work but with no abs on truck. Abs controller was only put on two years of GMC and chevy trucks 99-01.
Tl the contact owns a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic) by wehr Ford (11311 us-60 bus, mountain grove, mo 65711, (417) 926-3192). The contact stated that the dealer only cleaned the abs sensor for corrosion. Years later, the brake pedal failed to respond due to internal corrosion regarding the sensor. Also, the abs kept intermittently activating and caused extreme difficulty when braking. The brake pedal failed to stop the vehicle and caused the driver to have to reverse more than twice to prevent a crash. The dealer was notified of the failures and indicated that the abs sensor may need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.
