Transmission Noise problems of the 2004 GMC Sierra 1500

1 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2006

: the contact stated while traveling 20 mph the transmission made a noise while it was changing gears. At first the noise was a light ping but now the noise had become regressively worse. The sound graduated to a clunk. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the contact was alerted that a letter from the manufacturer indicated that the vehicle could not be fixed. The noise was a characteristic of the way the vehicle was manufactured. Updated 9/28/2006 -.

2 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2005

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500. While making a left or right turn at 15 mph, the contact heard a noise coming from the steering shaft. The dealer lubricated the steering shaft and the noise ceased. However, the noise has currently returned. The dealer stated that this was a maintenance issue that would have to be corrected on a regular basis. The failure mileage was 18,000 and current mileage was 46,000.
