Dashboard Crack problems of the 2007 GMC Sierra 1500

Dashboard cracks everything.

Takata recall cracked dashboard. At passenger airbag and also drivers side. Materially defective and potentially dangerous dashboard. Dealer fails to replace under warranty. Going on my 3rd dashboard out of pocket. Will not buy another gm product. Neither will my friends or family.

The dash board of my vehicle has cracks in it. More and more cracks are beginning to develop over the airbag. I am worried about the airbag deploying with sharp plastic pieces pointing at it. I think this is a hazard to all drivers. Every gm truck/tahoe from 2007-2013 (that I have seen) have these ugly and dangerous cracks in them.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag wiring would need to be rewired. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags), but the part to do the repair was unavailable. The manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Multiple cracks on the dash board. The edges of the plastic are very sharp and could be hazardous in the event of a collision. The first crack appeared on the passenger side on the just above the air bag. It is now cracking on the drivers side. I have had chunks of plastic fall off while driving and the fall through the instrument panel and steering column to the floor.
