Dashboard Crack problems of the 2010 GMC Sierra 1500

My dash had 4 cracks in it. The part covering the passenger air bag is very in safe.

Cracked dash by passenger airbag! if I was to get in an accident and my passenger airbag goes off my passenger is most likely going to be hit with cracked dash pieces as well.

My 2010 GMC sierra has 47,000 miles on it, primarily sits in a temperature controlled garage, and has 3 cracks in the dash. Two of the cracks happned while sitting stationary in the garage. Two of the cracks are connected to the air bag creating a hazard. GMC nor the dealer will take care of this considering a lot of complaints by other owners.

Dash cracked in two places above instrument panel an in corner of air bag. I don't know if the vehicle was in motion or stationary.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving 50 mph, there was an abnormal popping noise and the dashboard had a hole. The dashboard was cracked across to the air bag, and plastic and metal fragments were exposed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 73,000.

The dashboard cracked around the passenger airbag as well as the steering wheel for no reason. . . Worried that if the airbag goes off the dash will break apart and causing injuries. 3 of us at work that own a GMC/chevy product in this age range has the same cracks in the same places. My dash cracked overnight while sitting in a garage. The air temps were in the 60's so could not be because of heat or cold. The repair for the cracked dash was a little over $1200.

Crack on dash above gages as well as above airbag!!.

Cracked dashboard. My vehicle is a 2010 with 43,000 miles and is stored in a garage most of the time (not a daily driver). Dashboard cracked while sitting in the garage. No extreme changes in temperature as garage is heated.

Multiple cracks on dashboard. The first two (2) cracks appeared about 3 years ago (truck only three years old at that time) located on passenger side of dash - above where glove box ends. Just found another crack this past weekend when cleaning dash. (truck is now 6 yrs old - just finished paying it off!!) this one is located on left side of driver side, about half way back. My concern is that the dash is now compromised. In the event the airbags are deployed, my concerns are that the airbags may not come out, come out improperly due to the cracks, or that there may be additional dash parts becoming a projectile that could cause more harm. In reading this site it seems that this is a known problem that should be addressed before it causes a major problem. This truck has been kept in partial shade and has always had a sunscreen in place when not in use.

Dash crack. Dash is cracked at airbag. Already been replaced once by dealer and is cracking in same spot. Afraid if air bag deployed it could cause serious harm or even death due to sharp plastic pieces that are broken on dash.

Dash cracked under warranty and was replaced immediately by the dealer (howard bentley in albertville,al). Replacement dash has cracked again. My concern is this is a known issue with certain gm models and in the event of a crash the pieces of compromised dash will become a projectile inside the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact observed a crack in the dashboard near the front passenger side air bag. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,500.

Upper dashboard cracked along airbag location on passenger side - top left corner of air bag. Car was parked, crack was just there when I entered the vehicle one morning. . . Not just once but twice. Apparently the dashboard cracks just after the third year and re-occurs with replacement dashboards as well (all dashboards are defective, including the replacements). Note: exact same crack and location as many others reported on facebook group forum page (07-13 gm cracked dash safety hazard for all trucks).
