Takata recall: I received a notice from tk holdings in 2016 about this recall. I've checked the website several times since but the status is always "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available". I called GMC today and they submitted a report to the NHTSA that they claim shows that the truck is safe and the airbags/inflators do not need to be replaced. They would not tell me when they submitted the report, but the deadline from the NHTSA was 8/17. This looks like a delay tactic by GMC. In the meantime, I have a truck that the NHTSA has deemed unsafe enough to issue a recall. This impacts my peace of mind, as well as any resale value the truck may have. I understand that these things take time but this seems excessive. Can you tell me when the NHTSA will issue a response to GMC regarding the report. Bottom line, is the truck safe to drive or not?.
Takata inflators. Since 2011 ai have been asking my dealer to replace the defective air bag and they keep telling me gm will not authorize it. It is now April 2018. I want to know when this repair will be done. Thank you.
Takata recall. It has been 15 months since I was issued a recall notice concerning my passenger airbag. Gm has still not made any attempt to replace it under their recall. My vehicle is only getting older and causing the inflator in question to be further stressed from the heat and humidity of the northeast texas. I no longer feel safe having a passenger in my vehicle.
Takata recall gm recall sierra airbags, with special note that I live in and purchased my vehicle in a high risk high humidity area south carolina but are fighting basis of takata recall until they do their own testing. I called dealer and gm directly: no further info. Gm keeps stating parts not available and are not addressing concern- they are fighting the reality takata airbags are defective. Takada inflator has been on recall for way too many years while people continue to be injured and or killed, while gm stands by and refuses to do anything. They didn't mind taking my money. This is a 2011 how many more years will it take? I asked for a loaner vechicle but that was also denied. Now I demand my truck fixed and a loaner until you can get the parts. I am scared to death every time I need to unexpected the truck, don't you think it's about time you start helping your gm customers out? I think it's been way too long.
