On my 2014 GMC, the front driver side seatbelt was not latching. We had to finagle to latch it. To which this point we were unsure that we were safe. So I brought the GMC to the GMC rosedale dealership and after further investigation they charge me $522 to repair replace the belt. I told them it’s a safety issue, but they seem not to care, I also contacted GMC corporate and they are investigating this. So if it state law that you have to wear a seatbelt for your safety, why do dealerships charge you to repair or replace them. ?.
Nhtsa campaign id 21v245000 truck is issuing a service air bag alarm, was my truck given wrong part on original recall. Purchased 2 months ago.
My drivers side seat belt cable broke. I did some research and there was a recall no. 16v209000. I took my vehicle to swickard GMC dealer in anchorage ak to get repaired and they fixed the seatbelt but told me it wasnt covered under the recall because the recall had already been completed in 2015. The issue with the seat belt breaking is exactly the issues in the recall and believe the recall was not completed or was completed unproperly.
The vehicle was in a accident where someone ran a red light and my vehicle hit the in the front passenger side. My speed was around 40 to 45 mph there was no restraint with the seatbelt, airbag did not deploy and brakes didn’t work properly.
Hard braking required to stop vehicle at low speeds. No braking at low speed.
I took my truck in to the local GMC dealership for the recall fix and they ask if I wanted a diagnosis on the truck for a charge . I said yes cause I had a check engine light on and service air bag light on. Which they both came on a week after I bought it. So the service advisor told me that the belt tensioner is out on the drivers side and that the wiring under the drivers seat is messed up. And they told me some other things that were wrong with my truck that I have since found out were false. But I asked him if the seat belt and working issue is covered under a safety warranty. And he said no and to fix your truck it will be 5400 dollars. I have found out that there is a recall on these items and the recall number is 15522. So I would like to find out if I'm or the services advisor. Thanks.
Rear seat belt is not retracting properly. Slack remains in the seat belt when fastened. Occupant has to manually feed the belt into the opening to allow the belt to tighten, but any time the occupant move, causing the belt to extend, there is slack introduced again, the seat belt ratchet will not retract the slack, and the belt does not remain firmly in place. This happens in all driving conditions, parked or moving.
Tl- the contact drove a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 company vehicle. While the contact was attempting to fasten the front driver's side seat belt, the lap belt cable from the floorboard fractured in two. The contact called linwood Chevrolet Buick GMC dealer (2007 state route 45 north, mayfield, ky 42066, (270) 228-2606) and attempted to schedule an appointment, but the dealer informed the contact, they will give him a call back. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that they will extend the warranty for the repair of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000. Aw.
The seatbelts in the rear seats do not fit children properly. My son is currently the age of 9 and is approximately 100 lbs. So he no longer can use a booster seat, however the seatbelt is still not placed accross his chest appropriately when riding in the vehicle. With recommendations to have children ride in the back seat,a s it is safer for them, it would be nice to have a sliding seatbelt retractor like the front seats passenger and driver. I am hopeful that when manufacturering an y new models this could be achieved to make our children safer as a passenger in a motor vehicle.
Driver seat belt locks unexpectantly unable any slack to be able to move to safely change lanes to verify no cars in blind spot.
I temporarily had no control over the vehicle causing me to have an accident. While driving down a residential street approaching a stop sign intersection I merged into the center of st to pass a trashcan and in the process of returning to my correct position on the road I suddenly had no steering. Panicking from the loss I pressed my brakes an attempt to bring vehicle to a stop but was unsuccessful because the tires began a slide once noticing the traction loss I proceeded to release brakes and reapply in hopes of gaining traction the brief relief from brakes caused the vehicle to regain traction and while I still have no control over steering, the vehicle jerks towards the right side of the road and the brakes being reapplied the vehicle continues to slide off pavement making contact with stop sign and telephone pole.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v651000 (air bags, seat belts) and 16v209000 (seat belts). The dealer scheduled a repair, but when the contact arrived at the dealer, he was informed that the part was not available and the vehicle would need to be kept for 5 to 7 days. The contact would have to sign a waiver to release the vehicle. The dealer provided no accommodations for a loaner vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified. I received a recall notice from GMC that the flexible steel cable that connects the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat (the "tensioner cable") can fatigue and separate over time as a result of occupant movement into the driver's seat. I received a second notice that the parts are now available to repair my vehicle. I scheduled an appointment accordingly and checked with the dealer prior to arrival. I have now been waiting for well over 2 hours and I just found out that the part is not in stock and the recall can not be fixed. I have attached the work order and my receipt which shows that the work was performed when in fact it has not been completed. I am now at risk and have no trust in the dealership service center.
Gm seat belt recall was performed but the dealer at gm's direction hacked the interior trim piece to correct defect. This is a different fix than they perform on the unsold models and is not acceptable or ethical on a truck that cost +30,000. 00.
