Took the truck to get a diagnostic check due to the truck in driveway would not go into reverse so husband put it in drive to pull up a little to see if it would help to then go into reverse, instead, the truck jerked so hard & almost threw my husband & son into the garage door that morning. Husband & son came back in all shook up. The scan diagnostic code-chck showed: trans fluid-indeed full; but way burnt; needs transmission; front pump making noise in transmission; torque converter; exhaust shows signs of back pressure-and one running hotter than the other; the left side running 100+ hotter than the right - needs transmission assembly removed & repaired; reman gm trans; y-pipe w/both converters; fluids flush nuts bolt gaskets. I was told it would not be a good idea to drive it. I am retired military and maintained the truck throughout my military career, but no warnings showed on the dash reader for something wrong with transmission. It is a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 slt 5. 3l v8. VIN#[xxx]. Need help if this issue has ever been placed on the recall list? if not, it should be. This issue could kill someone if it were to jerk while driving on the road. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
