Hard shifting transmission and fluid smells burnt, shifts hard in the lower gears and reverse.
The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle drove over a slight bump in the road. The contact stated that the vehicle bounced, and then there was an abnormal banging sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact recently had work completed on the exhaust system. The contact took the vehicle back to the independent mechanic who had performed the exhaust repair. The mechanic raised the vehicle on the lift and became aware that the rear passenger’s and driver's side cross members, supports for the shock absorbers, and the rear sub frame had extensive corrosion. The contact was advised by the mechanic that the banging sound was coming from the shock absorbers striking the bed of the truck while driving over the bump in the roadway. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,569.
Within the first week of buying my 2014 GMC 1500 sierra, the transmission fluid was black in griddy. I have had it flushed, then filter changed and new fluid put in within 2 week time frame. A week later had to put a new transmission in it. It barely would drive. So a purchase at 2,999 then to a transmission 4,800 and new control arm with ball joint with new axels. They were busted. Another 2,000. Its sicking. Advice.
The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was veering to the right or to the left and was moving upwards and downwards. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was veering excessively to the left or to the right while turning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the front brakes were replaced, and the contact was informed that the sway bar end links were fractured due to rust. The contact stated that upon inspecting underneath the vehicle, the lower parts of the links had detached, and one of the links was flapping. The contact purchased new parts from the dealer, and the mechanic replaced the links. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing hard shifts while driving from a complete stop and while coming to a stop. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.
Electrical glitches happen at both, low speeds and while on the roadway. My steering wheel tightens up and I get a message on the dashboard “stabilitrak” and another one “assisted steering reduced, drive with care”. My vehicle even shut off on me after pulling in to a parking space after turning steering wheel completely to one side.
Recall on brakes says it's fixed. My brakes fail alot suspension chunks all the time and steering feels like tire is falling off.
Cross frame member ahead of rear wheels has rotted and failed. It is located behind the cab and is the cross frame that holds up gas tank and forms the anchor point for the rear shock absorbers. I have been told by dealer that truck is not safe to drive. It is now at a body shop. The suspension is compromised, gas tank could fall, and drivability safety is affected. Truck is only 8 years old, the cross member is not visible to consumer, there has been no undue use or environmental conditions to cause the rot and failure of the component. Further, the manufacturer does not sell a replacement part, so the entire frame of the truck would need to be replaced.
Stability control truck felt no power and on off on again it happened suddenly how to fix?.
The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving 3 mph, when he heard an abnormal noise and saw the front driver side tire detached from the vehicle. The contact stated he crashed into a metal pole. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. Air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries on his recently operated right shoulder. The contact did not seek any medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to his residence. The contact stated that the rack and pinion along with the tie rod was damaged. The contact called local dealer Chevrolet of wasilla (3700 e parks hwy, wasilla, ak 99654, (907) 202-7325) was made of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 82,000.
At speeds highway speeds 50 and above the truck can shack horrible causing to apply vehicles hazards and pulling off the road for feeling like the truck is coming apart with the fear of loosing control of the vehicle. The horrible shack cause nausea and dizziness. I have replaced wheels and tires, shocks, re aligned and balanced multiple times nothing has fixed the issue. Will be in touch with a GMC dealer about this situation .
Vibration between 60 and 85 miles per hour has been occurring since 28000 miles on vehicle currently vehicle has 40000 miles. On 9/23 2018 experienced more violent shaking of entire cab to the point had to shut vehicle off. Did visual inspection saw nothing started vehicle up again no vibration for 20 miles started again continued to destination. Took to dealership unwilling to preform vibration analysis as recommended in gm bulletin pi1354c.
The truck starts to vibrate terribly when in motion at highway speeds anywhere between 70-85, even if on new smooth set of highway truck will still vibrate. I have come to the conclusion that its the truck and not the roads.
Power steering light and stabilitrack light coming on when coming to a slow stop. Lights will not stay on long enough to throw a code to read. A/c, radio, dash all shuts down when these codes throw.
There is a service bulletin from gm about frame rust on all GMC 2014 1500 sierra and chevy 2014 silverado 1500 light duty pick up trucks. The frames and some important bolts are highly rusted. They only touch-up spots they can access at the dealership. The facility where they were produced used a poor quality waxy paint coating. The dealership cannot guarantee a complete solution for this frame rust. This is a very dangerous problem in the future of the life of the truck. The frame could decay and the bolts can break off. This is not fair for a $40,000 to $60,000 truck. You can spot the rust right from the dealership new truck lot. I read on the gm truck forum on the internet hundreds if not thousands of these trucks have this issue. I will feel very unsafe driving this truck a few years from now. There are some photos of a few rusted areas in the gm service bulletin which you obtain.
Truck vibrated new with 8 miles when we first drove it home. Pinpointed specific speeds and returned 9+ times to dealership over 7 months. Tires (twice), shocks and rear end were all replaced but did not stop vibration. 5 months from purchase we were followed by a neighbor and they saw my truck "dog tracking" (traveling sideways down the road). Dealer noted but would not follow at distance and speed required to witness the "dog tracking". Dealer told me they were clueless and come get the truck. Local auto repair shop followed me and said there is definitely a problem. Front center of wheel to back center of wheel measures 1/2 inch less on driver side than passenger side but dealer says that is not a good measurement because their computer says everything is fine. This truck vibrates and "dog tracks" and dealership refuses to make proper offer and has given up on repair attempts. I am presently seeking help from a different dealer.
Excessive vibration at highway speeds. Manufacturer is aware but has no solution.
Very poor lighting at night with headlights on both low beam or high. . . . Very dangerous in rural areas. . . I have tried new bulbs with no luck. . . Truck seems to sit low on one side looking at the back even on flat surfaces. . .
I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 slt crew cab. The vehicle has a vibration above 40 mph since I purchased the vehicle new in July 2013. They attempted to fix this once already by rebalancing the wheels but still has the same issue. It appears I'm not the only one with this issue.
