During a turn in the parking lot my vehicle would not allow me to turn something with traction control came up on the screen. The past few days the car got stuck at 0 rpms while driving and did not feel I had adequate power and other times has stalled.
When I slow down to make a turn, my truck loses power making the turn very dangerous. I lose control of the vehicle for a few seconds due to loss of power. It is very dangerous for me to make turns.
It turned off while driving on freeway I immediately put on n and start back up. It also pulls back as I’m driving normal 35mph. My rpm gaug goes up to 3 while driving down hill and locks.
I was driving down the road and all of the sudden it was if my transmission disengaged and my car lost power. It then automatically came back on and the service stabilitrak lights came on. I nearly avoided an accident and was able to pull off onto the side of the road.
The vehicle 4wd system remains engaged and will not disengage. Upon further investigation the system effects steering and drivability. Also effects speed of the vehicle. The vehicle utilizes a code c0398 and show a message of the dash service 4wd. This is due to faulty software installed by the manufacturer. Will cause damage to mechanical parts if driven on the vehicle and is a safety hazard. Gm reference # issued to me when issue complaint of the out of pocket cost to update the software as required by gm to fix their operating system. My reference number is 9-5058496526. Same issue resulted in 2015 GMC sierras that caused gm to issue a service bulletin #28770. Software issues are not wear and tear components. Gm faulty software is the responsibility of the gm as they can cause safety and damage to the mechanical parts of the vehicle.
I was driving on the interstate and a message stating "service stabilitrack" message appears simultaneously with the check engine light and service traction control, the car loses the ability to accelerate and maintain speed. I kept driving because there was no safe place to stop, and after a few miles the door locks unlocked then locked, the info screen flashed and then the engine revved and appeared to drive normally. Several miles later it happened again, over and over. When I reached my nieghborhood the car completely powered off.
We had the vehicle recall notice about the stability and power assist repaired at our preferred gm dealership, james wood, before the problem occurred because of a recall notice we received last year. Sunday, January 30, 2018 the dash displayed power assist limited and also displayed abs light . Service engine soon, so we brought it to the dealership again. This time the vehicle was revving high but no display. The dealership observed the vehicle doing this but we were told the recall had already been performed. There is a revised product safety recall reference number n172085440. I'm alerting the NHTSA of this.
Yesterday I was driving home on the highway driving approximately 75mph when without any warning a stability steering control light flashed on the dashboard behind my steering wheel. The car immediately jolted from driving mid 70's down to an immediate 67mph. This speed limit was the last thing that flashed before my dashboard blacked out, the steering column locked and the vehicle entirely lost power while driving. Seconds later my windshield wipers sporadically started moving (I did not engage the switch) and I watched the temperature go up from 70 to 80 without touching the gauge manually. The car jolted for almost 10 miles sporadically losing control intermittently and when I exited off the highway and made a left hand turn at a low speed (under 15mph) the steering completely locked and the car pulled off to the side of the road toward a curb. I gained control of the vehicle manually which was difficult but I did correct the drive path back onto the road. I pulled into the dealership at a low rate of speed and the car did the same thing as it did when I exited the highway. I'm in a loaner and the dealer has my vehicle. This vehicle was purchased used roughly 2 months ago from a registered GMC dealer with 40k miles on it. It now has roughly 44k on it. I have made 1 payment on this vehicle thus far.
Complete loss of power steering along with speed control being disabled when a turn signal is activated. Recall 17v414000 has already been completed and did not correct the problem. Both of these issues occur during the same drive cycle (issues have not happened simultaneously but will both occur at some point during the same drive cycle) they seem to only happen on drive cycles that last longer than 45 minutes.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving the gear shifted into neutral inadvertently and caused the vehicle to abruptly accelerate. The contact also stated the vehicle consume the engine oil prematurely and exhibited electrical failure with the windows opening and closing on its own and headlights electrical failing to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failures however; the dealer advised there was nothing they could do to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000. Li.
