The contact owns a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving, he detected an anti-freeze odor. The contact checked under the hood and became aware that the radiator was cracked. The vehicle was taken to vanguard Buick GMC of carrollton (2700 n interstate 35e, carrollton, TX 75007) where the dealer informed the contact that the radiator needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained at the dealer for the repair. The dealer informed the manufacturer of the failure, and the manufacturer informed the dealer that the contact needed to pay to replace the radiator. The same issue as gm service bulletin pi1513f (radiator leak) has happened on my 2017 GMC sierra. This service bulletin currently covers 2014 - 2016 models and needs to be extended to cover 2017 models (and possibly 2018). This issue is a radiator that leaks on the passenger or drivers side on the wall between the cooling fins and the end of the radiator.
My radiator has developed a leak and coolant is escaping when engine is hot. The issue appears to be very similar to the incidents with the 2014-15 model year issue. The problem was diagnosed to be a leaking radiator near the top right side by an independent mechanic.
