Tl the contact owns a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with goodyear wrangler sr-a tires, size: 265/60r2. While driving 75 mph, the contact noticed that all the tires had bubbles. The vehicle was taken to coulter Buick GMC tempe (7780 s autoplex loop, tempe, az 85284, (480) 448-2471) for diagnostic testing where it was confirmed that the tread separated from the tires, which needed to be replaced. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to call goodyear. The manufacturer provided case number: 1692419. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 24,600. The tire failure mileage was 932.
All four oem bridgestone dueler a/t p285/45r22 m+s tires are showing premature cracking in sidewall near the bead/wheel. The cracks appear on the full circumference of the tire and vary in length from short to several inches. Depth of cracking is estimated to be 1/16" and growing. The tires, with date code 2318, were on the brand new truck when purchased from the dealership in Aug 2018. The vehicle currently has 16k miles. Both the dealership and local tires plus chain have confirmed the issue, but there is not a suitable remedy. Bridgestone will not warranty the tires and replacement under the gm "warranty" is the same price as new aftermarket tires. I believe this is a pending safety concern.
