Four problems related to air bag have been reported for the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 based on all problems reported for the 2019 Sierra 1500.
Issue 1: driver side front seat airbag connector separated disabling the airbag. (repaired at my cost) issue 2: transmission (10 speed auto) developed stutter and skip consistent with complaints resulting in recall of 2020 (next model year truck) due to risk of rear wheel lock up. Gm needs to include the 2019 models that were built as 2019 (as 2020) in one of the plants while they continued to build the 2018 as 2018 "classics" during the changeover. My cost to repair will be $3600 and there is not guarantee that the new valve body is any better or if gm is simply giving me another 46k miles to wait for another failure.

Question: has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? answer: no. It currently is at a repair facility as of this morning and it’s apparent that the air bags did not deploy. Question: were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? answer: none. No previous warning lamps, messages, or symptoms. *note: I have dash cam video of the collision in my possession.
System that failed was the air bag system , yes it can be available for inspection with notification, my family and friend were put at risk when the air bag system deployed in a parked car and seat belt restraints were deployed pulling them back into the seats , not moving and no other cars around it or near it went off randomly it was not in an accident , injuring the 3 occupants. The problem is still pending , at the dealer, and general motors has been notified . Case 9-6893265248, general motors product assistance claims (pac) there has been a police report filled with local officials, I don't think the dealership has inspected , buy recommendation of gm, since this is none accident related to the air bag system going off randomly, very freighting to me and my family. No warning lamps no indication of anything wrong with the vehicle, prior to incident, and one of the boys could not exit the car due to the seat belts being cinched down on him during the air bag explosion. Incident happened 8/22/2021 at about 10:15 to 10:30 am a week latter we are still waiting on answers from general motors as to what happened , this vehicle has never been in an accident , and we have all the service records from the dealership , the only place it has been serviced, gm has download data from the computers, and we have asked for copies of those data files as well, we do have all the service records as well should you need them.
Traveling at 68mph, a deer jumped in front of me and I struck the deer hard enough to cause radiator to dump the fluid onto the road. Seat belts locked and the airbag system fired. Smoke filled the cab and the computer registered as airbags deployed. But there were no airbags physically come out into the vehicle.
