The contact stated the multiple warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to park the vehicle safely out of the highway. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle first to his residence and then the following day to an independent mechanic and was informed the electronic brake control module (ebcm) had to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 19v889000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electrical stability control), however the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

Vehicle was 300 miles out of warranty when I get a service trailer brake warning on my info center replaced a blown fuse and the fuse blows again, no trailer has ever been hooked up to this truck. Went online and inquired about this problem and there's thousands of post and complaints about this problem, even on a gm site there's a pi investigation about this problem, why doesn't gm just do a recall to fix a problem they know about. I'm getting ready to buy a travel trailer and now I don't know if its safe to pull it!.
I received a brake control module warning alert. The alert indicated my abs system was subject to failure and required a software patch. I see that the exact issue I had was subject to a recall of 463,000 similar year and model vehicles. Despite the identical issue, it being related to a failure of their software the GMC website and my dealer refused to cover my vehicle claiming it was not part of the recall.
Tl the contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed to the floor but failed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to jack giambalvo Buick GMC (1390 eden road, york, PA 17402, (717) 781-2154) and the dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
1st time engine check light came on had brake control updated. 2nd did auto start and after that truck will not start. After 3 hours can start the truck but brake control traction control abs were off. Engine has reduce power. Dealer updated the truck and check battery. 3rd time truck will not power on. After jump starting the truck it pops up all of previous message. And running board keep popping in and out and truck will still drain power ebven when off.
Transmission shifts hard first 3 gears. Rear end clunks brakes squeak when going in reverse when putting in reverse gear goes in hard seems to be doing more often.
Driving at roughly 3 miles per hour in 4 wheel high on a gravel road. The axle broke and the tire collapsed. I strongly believe something is defective. (maybe a weld issue?).
Vehicle is in motion and pedal is depressed coming up to a stop. When depressing the brake pedal it feels as if the abs is engaging. Sometimes braking response is none existent. You can feel a surge in the pedal periodically when depressing the brake.
When I was at a stop light on a city street and I pressed the gas pedal, the brakes locked itself and I could only go 5mph. This is the fourth time it has happened.
When truck is turned on dash says service esc brake system and service 4 wheel drive will not disengage from 2 wheel drive and parking brake is engaged and will not disengage and truck will not move. Infotainment screen will freeze up and not be able to change radion navigation etc.
When I started my vehicle this morning, I got a warning of break failure that came up on my dic; this has been happening a lot. I just took the truck in last week for the 4th time and they did another update due to the last recall that was put out by gm. Nothing seems to be working with this break issue. The break paddle at times seems to have difficulty when I'm starting the truck. I did not use my remote start on any of the issues I'm having. The truck was parked in my drive way yet it's also happening at various places around town as well.
Driving home at low speed truck would hardly stop took it to dealer-suburban GMC troy mi. Received a letter afterwards that brake control module was not repaired properly and needed to return for repair truck showed about 15000 miles on odometer April 2020 and showed 51% brake life on rear brakes-when I asked if brake were worn I was told no and dashboard now read 91% brake life on rear brakes-in march2023 with 28000 miles on the odometer my brake monitor alert came on and when I returned to the dealer I was told that my rear brakes were down to 15% and needed to be replaced. Everyone tells me front brakes should wear out first and rear brakes should last much longer.
Tl-the contact owns a 2019 GMC sierra. The contact had a recall for the brakes and had them repaired. The vehicle was sitting in a parked position and everything shut down. The vehicle no power for about 25 minutes before it was able to be restarted. The panel stated that the vehicle was shut down for a manufacturer reset. The vehicle was driven and the brakes malfunctioned while making a left hand turn. The vehicle crashed head on into another vehicle. The other driver broke his foot but refused to be transported to the hospital. A police report was filed. The insurance company was totaled the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and they said could not determine from. The vehicle's black box what caused the accident. The unknown dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was currently being inspected by engineering firm hired out by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 10,000. Tf.
Driving my 2019 sierra on a slightly snow covered road applied brakes and truck pulled to the right and antilock brakes never worked causing me to hit guard rail. Called insurance talked with dealer about what happened they said to contact gm customer service. Had my wrecked truck fixed and when gm got back to me they said there was nothing else they could do because I contacted my insurance instead of dealership???? now I have received another recall notice telling me my brakes are not responding properly. Guess I need a lawyer I don't know.
I was driving to work in snowy conditions and on a very slight bend on a flat public highway my truck starting sliding and as I turned the wheel and applied the brakes the usual action of antilock brakes did not work as intended allowing me to steer clear of the obstacle causing me to wreck. 2018 GMC Sierra 1500.
After my recall was fixed my truck locked into 4 wheel drive and I lost control of all my safety features. My lights would not work. They fixed what they said was a glitch in the recall and 3 weeks later my engine light came on again and my brake system started to show lights. They recalibrated the brake system recall again.
My pickup started, I pulled out on road and sped up to 35 mph, when I stepped on brakes to slow down they were unresponsive, so I began pumping. They felt very hard to pump and were not slowing the truck down. Lights came on saying service brakes etc. As I coasted to try to slow down off side of road. I had to keep pumping the brakes down to floorboard and I'm not sure they were even working as I coasted safely off side of road to a stop, I turned engine off immediately calling my dealership service department. I wouldn't drive it any further as I felt I had no brakes whatsoever. Dealership had it towed to their shop. The next afternoon I spoke with them. They stated it was a known issue and that a recall had been issued (see recall number below) but I never received it. I did receive a seat belt recall so I know they have my correct address. I was told it was some problem with a module and I can come puck truck up. It was scary when it happened. I purchased this pickup new on August 21, 2019. Recall number: recall-n192268090 (per dealership service department).
Started with ignition button put in reverse backed up went to stop and realised brakes are not working as usual had to stand on pedal to stop. Checked mirrors to make sure I didn't hit anything I didn't . Thought maybe I hit side of brake pedal so I applied the brake again and figured I lost brake boost. I checked for warning lights there were none . Brakes did not work properly until I restarted truck . Then I felt the pedal reacted properly . Called dealer they did a recall but recall didn't specifically match my brake loss. I can only hope it's fixed.
Tl- the contact owns a 2019 GMC sierra k1500. The contact stated while exiting a parking lot multiple warning light were illuminated (abs, traction control ,service engine soon, trailer brake lost and do not exceed over 60 mph). The contact stated he continue driving the vehicle. The contact stated when approaching a traffic light, he depressed the brake pedal to the floor but the vehicle continue to move forward. The contact stated he was waiting for tow service to take the vehicle to local dealer. The contact called to local dealer gurley leep gm giant located at gurley leep gm giant, (574) 271-3700 and were made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 12,575. Dp.
After having a recall issue fixed on the abs braking system of my truck, I remoted started it from gm's onstar app, which caused the dashboard to light up like a christmas tree and give a number of errors, including a solid engine light. Gm onstar diagnosis identified that there is now another issue in the abs braking system. There has been no mechanical failure at this point, but I am concerned their maybe as others with this same issue have seen mechanical failure.
I had no issues with my truck until I went and had the most recent recall done for the brakes. I since have had brake issues twice. Once, hours after having the recall done I got in my truck and started it and all the dashboard lights were illuminated and I had to push the brake pedal to the floor after accelerating. The other instance was a week later after remote starting my truck from the phone application had the same scenario play out.
I received notice that there are two recalls out for my truck: a brake system recall and a forward camera/collision recall. Had both recalls performed and immediately the forward camera collision alert, lane keep and intellibeam systems didn't work. Delaer informed me there is a problem with the update and I need a new camera. That is on order and pending. More importantly, about 2 days after the updates the truck showed alerts about the brakes, traction control and stabilitrack systems. Upon driving the truck the power/vacuum assist system failed and the brake pedal nearly went to the floor before engaging brakes; I could barely stop. Returned the truck to the dealer and was told its a common issue with the brake recall update (the truck had no such symptoms before the update). If you check out various gm vehicle owner forums you will see scores of silverado and sierra owners with the same two issues post-update: no collision camera and sudden loss of brakes. There is a problem - a very dangerous problem - with these updates.
Four days after having a recall performed I was getting an error for my ecs and abs being disabled. The truck lost almost complete control of braking. I took it back to the dealership to be reprogrammed and the same thing happened a week later. Both times this happened when the truck was first started.
Had serious braking issue power brake all at once reduced brake efficiency almost ran into oncoming traffic before I got stopped check engine light came on and warning in info box came on gm even describes this problem in the owners manual is in shop now 11/19/19 howard bentley albertville al was moving.
I have had the 2019 Sierra 1500 at4 with 6. 2 liter engine in the shop (8) times since purchasing it in late Aug 2019 for multiple issues, including the issues relating to the brake software recall. This resulted in me rolling through a stop sign without any brakes. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic. As an engineer, I have no confidence that the issue has been fixed long term by gm. My family will no longer ride in the truck with me. As a result, I have retained an attorney for the purpose of filing suit against gm for selling me an unsafe lemon. Even further concerning is the fact that on (2) occasions the parking brake has engaged while driving down the highway at 55 mph. One time while in 4wd in snow, and the other time while in 2wd on dry pavement. The first time there was a diagnostic code associated with the parking brake engaging randomly. The second time, there was no diagnostic code present. The first issue with braking began 11/14/2019, and the most recent issue occurred on 2/2/2020 even after all recall "fixes" have been applied.
The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the battery was draining quickly and was replaced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with brake system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
June 27th I was leaving a gas station in novato CA with my daughter and father in the truck. I slowly started moving through the station and noticed my brakes were almost completely gone. Fortunately I was close to home so I dropped down to first gear and slowly motored home to wait for the tow truck. I had the truck towed to the novato chevy dealership and they could find nothing wrong with the truck. I then began the process of requesting gm to buy this truck back and its definitely not going to be a short process. Im still currently driving this thing with no diagnosis of any brake issue. My wife won't even get into the truck. I absolutely love this truck and wish there was a definitive answer to what happened. Gm corporate said if it happens again to please bring it into the dealership for eval. If it happens again?!!! im not complaining about the air cooled seats not working properly! I drive a fire engine for a living and my job is to keep others safe. Now I'm having to drive this thing while waiting for gm to step up and buy this back before the brakes go out again. I suppose someone will have to die before gm acknowledges there's an issue here.
Tl- the contact owns a 2019 GMC sierra. The contact stated that while driving about 20 mph, the entertainment system went out. The vehicle was turned off and when it was turned back on the failure did not recur. The failure later recurred and the vehicle was taken to the bob howard Buick GMC dealer (405-936-8800, located at 13300 broadway extension, oklahoma city, ok 73114) where the computer system was updated. About two weeks later, while driving about 40 mph, the break lost power and did not stop the vehicle. The vehicle was coasted via a country road and was taken back to the same dealer. The vehicle was left with the dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle would be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500. Fe.
Rear wheel brakes unexpectedly lock up after driving over a hour or more.
Have about 6000 miles on my 2019 GMC seirra denali 5. 3 . I've been experiencing a very troubling issue been to the dealership once already and had a hard time convincing them that something was wrong with the truck . Every time I drive for long periods of time or idle for 10+ mins when I shift from park to drive I cannot go faster than 5 mph without the rear brakes locking up. I do not know if this is some kind of limp mode or what .
