Steering problem #2

Engine failed at high speeds on interstate. When my truck shut off the steering and braking system went out and getting to shoulder of interstate was difficult with others around me. Express lanes were limited on emergency shoulder therefore my truck was partially on the high speed driving lane. 911 was called out to block freeway lane. Check engine light blinked right when truck shut down.

Steering problem #3

This is separate for VIN 3gtuudel5ng657492 I had to change dealerships because beck & masten south / GMC would not provide me with a loaner after being told I was on the list and I was next in line. I waited a month and drove to them and spoke with the girl who oversaw loaners. I explained I had severe safety issues such as front-end wobble which is related to transmission issues. And the oil consumption issue and oil light. Once again, I was re-assured the loaner program was indeed still active and I would be put on priority. Again to no avail I had wasted too much time with beck & masten. After months of this I found out I did not have to take it to the dealer I bought it from. So, I took it to monument Chevrolet. I explained my concerns related to the front-end wobble which was very intermittent. And the oil consumption issue which I was very concerned with due to the year model and mileage of the truck. Also, the 75,000. 00 price tag was really has me extremely upset. . . Monument Chevrolet treated me well. I had actually brought it in and called about the steering which was greatly affected by the severe front end wobble more than one time. I was told at first the oil consumption was pretty normal. Until I told them how much I had to add between changes. I have attached two work orders to this complaint. These work orders show what was done at 18017 miles and 18323 miles. The later work order was when the pico test was done. Also, an oil consumption test was started once I picked the truck up. After I had driven it for 2077 miles and was bringing the vehicle back to monument Chevrolet, as instructed for the oil consumption results, when a loud squeeling, then hard knock, power loss and I pulled over. I called monument and was instructed if I could get it to start and bring it. I drove it to them while knocking and rough running. It has been in the shop for over 2 months for an engine replacement. 2077 miles after recall work! refer complaint 11729716.

Steering problem #4

1. )when driving the vehicle it will randomly shutoff while driving with loss of brakes and steering until it will randomly turn back on. The vehicle experiences intermittent electronic and drivability malfunctions. The issue appears to involve one or more vehicle control modules and/or electronic systems. At times, warning lights and system messages appear, and vehicle performance is affected. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. )these failures create a serious safety risk because they occur without warning while driving. The vehicle may lose normal functionality, display multiple warnings, or behave unpredictably. If this occurs in traffic, at speed, or while maneuvering, it could increase the risk of a crash or leave the vehicle stranded in an unsafe location. Furthermore on 3 separate circumstances I came close to crashing the vehicle putting at risk lives in the vehicle and outside. 3. )the problem is intermittent and has been difficult to reproduce on demand. I have taken the truck to the dealership multiple times. The dealership has stated that because the issue is not actively occurring when they have the vehicle, they have been unable to duplicate the concern and have instructed me to continue driving it until the issue happens again. Despite this, the problem continues to return during normal use. 4. )the vehicle has been inspected by the authorized dealership on multiple occasions. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected directly by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. 5. )intermittent warning lights and system messages appear, including at times a check engine light and other alerts. These warnings may appear suddenly as the truck shuts off and then disappear after the vehicle is turned off and restarted. Another thing to point out is that the audio and turn signal chime cut off randomly. The issue first began while the vehicle was already in normal use and has continued to reoccur since.

Steering problem #7

I purchased my 2022 GMC sierra XLT in February of 2022. I have had it in the shop 4 times for recalls. They couldn’t or didn't put an inspection sticker on the truck because I honestly don’t think it could have passed inspection. The truck sounds like a truck on transformer when I turn it off breaking town like a robot. On yesterday which was 1/27/2025 while backing up to turn around the truck started dragging in the back like the breaks locking up, the same thing happened while turning into my driveway off a state highway with an 18 wheeler coming. GMC can’t look at the truck until February 10! this truck was purchased new and it’s been nothing but trouble. Electrical system goes in and out steering assist reduced drive with care, engine power reduced, park assist on then off and truck making unusual noise. I waited 13 years to finally get another brand new vehicle and this what I ended up with. My last new vehicle was a 2004 Honda pilot. I had 459,000 miles on the truck no engine or transmission issues. I donated the truck to goodwill. Therefore, I hope GMC understands my frustration when my daughter’s 2019 kia optima is out performing my 2022 GMC XLT truck. The back breaks are dragging and locking up, it appears the gears are getting stuck and I can’t back the truck up or go in reverse without the struck staying stuck, then jerking vigorously and problems with the wheel turning to the right the truck get stuck or stall!.

Steering problem #8

This is in addition to the first report regarding my 2022 GMC sierra slt with 10-speed transmission. I had previously filed a complaint (nhsta tracking# 11728418. ) regarding the onstar and internet quitting on me. Which was the serial gateway module. I had reported that I was put off many times regarding a loner vehicle so I could get back and forth to my oncologist for treatment of head and neck cancer. And years of follow-up appt. With specialists gastrointerologists and cardiologist for serious issues incurred from 168 intense radiation treatments and chemo. I had also taken my truck in for all scheduled maintenace intervals specified by the dealer and the manufacturer. "repair order gccs504610" I had to leave it in the shop for 30 days for a defective exhaust system, radio, charging port, remote key fob not able to unlock the truck so I could get in. And some other warranty/recall issues regarding my a/c blower and seat cushion blower motor and trailer brake switch, fog lamps running while daytime running lights were on - all safety issues, my truck was @ beck & masten GMC for 30 days during these repairs, recalls and warranty. Will attach invoice 123532 to show consistant sheduled maintenance per GMC guidelines. Waited while this service was performed. "repair order / invoice 140542" again my truck was back at beck & masten GMC (19 days) for the serial gateway module and radio not working again! again, no onstar, no internet, no gps. And, I reported the oil consumption and add oil light coming on; which was dismissed as idling too often (. I had to add 2 qts of oil between scheduled oil changes(the truck had only 13754 miles at this time) the last time I had anything to do with beck & masten GMC south was when I spent over months waiting on a loaner vehicle because I needed them to please look into still having an oil light coming on. And slipping and front end wobble just before the slipping/clucking and high rpm's that were dangerous- accident!!.

Steering problem #9

I reported problems with my truck to beck and masten south GMC. I was put off a number of times with ridiculous excuses. My vehicle sat in the shop for a month to get my onstar safety equipment repaired. I also had arguments with them regarding the oil light coming on and it burning excessive amounts of oil. I was told this was normal. I know better. Also, I needed to get it back into the shop for service and inspection for a squeeling noise under the hood. And to have them check the oul consumption. I was told it idle too often, and this was the reason oil was dissapearing. I was told they would put me on the loaner list so I could have means to get to my oncologist for cancer care. Well, I called numerous times because they never furnished a loaner for these issues I was told a third, then forth time I was next in line for a loaner so I could drop it off for repairs and recall work. After 8 months of these lies I finally went to monument Chevrolet. Beck and masten never intended to help me. Total I had tried and was told by newer service advisors, the manager, and GMC this would be remedied over 10 times in over 6 months. I finally gave up and moved on to never return to this dealer I had purchased two brand new GMC 1500 trucks from in a two year time frame. I did get my onstar gateway repaired by replacement. It had stopped working again, shortly after getting it back. I kept getting put off. They stated it needed another gateway for onstar. I kept calling, and was told they would contact me ince it came in. I ended up troubleshooting the entire modem/router assy. I found inconsitant configuration parametrs. So, I reconfigured it all from start to finish after clearing the memory by taking battery cables off and allowing it to power down and clear memory. Then I did perform a reconfiguration and username/password change as well. I repaired it myself. The onstar has never acted up again. These were my first issues. I had to take it to monument Chevrolet for service.

Steering problem #10

While driving on a two lane highway at approximately 60 mph the powersteering on my truck failed with warning lights on the dash. I limped it to a town where I could get it scanned and they could not figure out the issue. The issue was intermittent for a few days until it was non-stop. It took over a month to get the reconfigured part from gm to complete the repair, gm had to reconfigure the part to fix the issue I was having. A faulty powersteering control module was the probelm and it required replacement of the entire steering rack and alignment. Gm is aware of this issue clearly due to their choice to rework the affected part, but not issuing a recall in light of the issue to take full repsonsibility/reimburse customers that have suffered monetary damage due to their failure to propperly engeineer parts.

Steering problem #11

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 mph, the contact observed a loud sound coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the steering wheel then pulled to the right. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and inspected. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was awaiting a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

Steering problem #12

When I started my truck the service power steering and service esc notifications came up on my panel. Now my truck has no power steering and it very difficult to steer and navigate. We are in the middle of a winter storm so it is even more of a safety issue in slippery conditions. The esc system does not engage either and the truck slides when taking corners much more than it used to before the issue.

Steering problem #13

After leaving my truck parked for a couple of hours over dinner I returned to find error messages stating "service power steering / drive with care" and "service esc". I also received a notification from onstar stating "diagnostic alert: service the antilock braking system in your 2022 sierra within 1 day. " my power steering was non-functional, nor were any cruise control functions. Repeated stop / start cycles did not clear the errors or regain functionality. After parking overnight everything was functional, and the errors on the dic were gone. Using a code scanner there were historical codes of u0131 and u0422.
