The contact owns a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at various speeds, the rear liftgate door erroneously opened. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the exterior touchpad switch assembly was faulty and needed to be replaced. The touchpad switch assembly was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 24v060000 (latches/locks/linkages). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 35,000.
