The contact owned a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked at the residence overnight, the vehicle caught on fire. The fire spread to his other vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet blazer and that vehicle was also destroyed. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A fire department report was filed. The contact was informed that the cause of fire ignition was unintentional. Both vehicles remained at the contact's residence and were deemed totaled by the insurance company. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 21v054000 (air bags) however, the cause of the fire was not related to the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 201,000.
