I purchased a set of firestone destination a/t2 tires from firestone in southaven, ms. I had the tires for less than 16 months. I took the tires in for inspection & was told the treat belts had separated from the tires. The tires are a hazard. The tires are 275/55r20. Driving on the interstate, I had to pull over as it felt as though the truck would overturn/rollover. They must be recalled. I contacted firestone, they were of little to no assistance. Unable to obtain a refund or credit. I googled info on firestone tires & a plethora of information exhibited the same thing, problems with tread separation.

Oem tires have extremely poor wet pavement traction. First incident occurred less than 30 days after purchasing the vehicle. It had rained heavily for an extended time that day and continuing moderately into the evening. Approaching the intersection where I intended to make a turn onto a side street, I began slowing to what I considered a safe and prudent speed given the road conditions. Upon applying the brakes the vehicle could not be stopped resulting in sliding completely straight through the intersection, luckily on a green signal light, and with no other traffic in my path. Realizing I was not slowing sufficiently to negotiate the turn, I did not attempt to turn the steering wheel and continued down the same street to a safe area to turn around and return to the street I intended to turn onto. Second incident, again on wet pavement, was after making a complete stop at a traffic light controlled intersection. When the signal light changed to green, I started negotiating a left turn. Approximately half way through the intersection, at a speed of less than 10 mph, rear tires lost traction and the rear of the vehicle tried to swap ends. Needless to say, my wife yelled at me to stop doing whatever it was that I did to cause such action, to which I replied. I did not do anything other than start moving forward at a slow pace and was just as surprised as she was by the behavior of the vehicle.
Etire other side wall separation (100%).

I was driving down airline hwy north bound before peque lane right by golf course at bridge the road is not really a pot hole but road is very distorted and the way I hit it, it put a big egg and split in my tire. This is an area were it has been like this for awhile and if you hit that spot it will mess your car up or make it hard to control your car. The tires I own are very high priced and I purchased not to long ago. I would like help in replacing the tire. I did go back and take pictures of the area in witch I hit to cause this to happen to the tire. The tires are $700 to $800 each but only one front right tire was damaged. I will have to order it.
I bought new GMC sierrra in mid 2004, truck equipped with goodyear wrangler st. Truck exhibits very poor wet traction and excessive tire wear. When tire was approximately at 18,000 miles had serious spin out on i75 south of tampa in lite rainy condition. Since then noticed tire spin on slightest wet roads, even has trouble pulling out of car washes. This is dangerous tire and should not be instilled on large vehicles. Tire is down to wear marks and only has 28000 miles. Tires have been rotated and maintained only by gm dealers. Goodyear dealer states this tire should not have been installed on full size trucks, it will wear excessively and may lead to blowout. Dealership won't do anything and goodyear states it is not covered by warranty because it was original equipment installed by manufacturer.
I purchased a new 2004 GMC in febuary 04 and it keeps wearing the front tires to excess and the dealer keeps telling me that's normal for a four wheel drive,,bull the tires are bridgestone dueler 265/r70/17 andthe truck. Is a 1500 GMC serria , I maintain my equipment and keep a close eye for problems and I can see someone who does not with tire failure and accidents, I have look at the same moldel and they too have the same problem with front tire wear.
