I was backing out of my driveway (down hill slope) and lost power steering and braking in my 2006 GMC 2500hd diesel truck. I put the transmission in neutral and deployed the emergency brake to stop. The mechanic determined the power steering pump had failed and this resulted in the hydro boost failure with subsequent brake loss.
