When I am driving in town I have an indication message that comes up and says engine power reduced.
I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 2500hd 4x4 automatic diesel lmm. While towing my travel trailer on the freeway at 65mph the dashboard displayed the message "engine power reduced" all of a sudden. While this was being displayed the vehicle slowed rapidly to 35mph and the vehicles behind me were scrambling to move over. I limped the vehicle to the nearest exit and connected my obdii reader and it displayed the code of p0087 low fuel rail pressure. I limped the vehicle to the nearest auto parts store and changed the fuel filter as a precaution. I was able to limp the vehicle home the rest of the way without any further issues but the remainder of my commute was down hill - luckily. I would like to know if there is any further information on this and what the manufacturer is going to do if at all.
Tl - the contact owns a 2009 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated intermittently the gas pedal would stick to the floor. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000. Bt.
